Chapter 13 - A witch's hell

Aria
I got out of bed and faced him. He was obviously freaking out. His usually calm and in control personality was nowhere to be found. He really loved his brother. I don't think even a mate could understand that. That's why I was pissed. Eli was a good for nothing asshole. I had a feeling he was doing this on purpose.

"Calm down and think for a minute. Your emotions are all over the place. If something was really wrong you would have felt it. You would have known. I'm sure his mate would have tried to reach you. There has to be a logical explanation. If we can't reach him telepathically, we'll do it the old fashioned way."

I got my cell from my purse and called Eli. He had managed to leave his number in there. How? I don't know. It rang continuously without an answer. I frowned and looked at Zane. "Let me try again."

"Don't bother. Get dressed. We're leaving."

I really thought he was going about this the wrong way, but I obeyed him and got dressed anyway.

He ran his fingers through his hair.

"Why wouldn't Vivianna have called me? I know we don't get along, but she should respect me enough to tell me when something is wrong." I linked my fingers with his. "Everything will be fine." He looked at me with pain reflecting in his eyes. "I hope so. I can't lose my brother. No matter how much of an asshole he is to other people he's still my brother."

"Let's go," I said. He would continue worrying until Eli resurfaced from whatever hole he's relaxing in, and when he does resurface, I have some nasty things to say to him.

That's how we ended up back on planet Atron. The people seemed more afraid of Zane than they were of Eli, but I didn't find him scary at all.

"That's because he's your mate."

I almost jumped out of my body.

"Alyssa?"

"The one and only."

"How am I able to hear you?"

"We have a natural connection. Your mind opened to me the minute you mated. Congratulations by the way."

"This is weird. I don't think I'll ever get used to people popping up in my head."

"You'll cope. Now tell me what's going on."

"Why do you think anything is going on?"

"Just a feeling."

"I'm not sure myself. If it's anything serious I'll let you know."

"Okay."

Silence greeted me after her response and I turned my attention to the current situation.

"Your...your highness."

"Where is my brother?" The guard's eyes were about to pop out of his head because of the tight grip Zane had on him. "Let me rephrase my question." He dropped the poor guard to the floor. "Can anybody here tell me where the fuck my brother is?" They were all silent. Zane was a little worked up. He wouldn't get any answers if he continued like this. I pulled him back and took over.

"I'm sure one of you knows something, which one, I don't know. I suggest you cooperate and no one will get hurt. As you can see, your King is having a hard time controlling his temper. I don't even want to think about what would happen if he lost it completely. Let's try another approach then. Where is Queen Vivianna?"
