EDITED

2 weeks later

"I have to go." Haylie laughed under Derek's mouth. He mumbled something which definitely sounded like a no, his hands still reaching to take the bag from her hands. "Yes." She laughed again, pulling it completely from his reach and pushing him back down on the bed. "I'm already going to be late." She didn't want to leave him either.

"Tell your dad you're staying at a friend's tonight, let's go somewhere." He suggested, propping himself up fully in the bed. The sheet covering his bottom half, but god she wanted to bite his chest all over.

"I can't." She pouted. "I promised Lydia I would go shopping with her after school before I hit the studio."

Derek rolled his eyes. He wanted more of her, every single second of the day he wanted more. "Will I see you after that?" He asked, sighing but pulling the cover from his body to start pulling on his jeans.

Haylie couldn't help the grin on her face as he stood. "Oh my god, you are so obsessed with me." She joked, shoving the last book in her bag.

He zipped up his jeans, his face remaining that neutral she had gotten so used to but didn't mind anymore. Not when his rare smile lit her heart on fire. "Maybe, I'm obsessed with the comfy bed," he started, stalking closer to her. When he got close enough to whisper in her ear he said, "Or maybe its that little noise you make when I slip my tongue..."

"Okay!" She stopped him, the heat rising to her cheeks as she placed a hand on that hard chest. She thought about brushing it off, but there was an evil glint in his eye that made her trail that hand back up to his neck. "I think you're forgetting who was doing the begging last night." She whispered but before he could think of a response, he settled on throwing the bag to the floor and her body back on the bed.

"Haylie, I'm your best friend." Lydia frowned as she dropped the smoothie on the table in the food court next to Allison. "I have known you since diapers and I know you are seeing someone, so just out with it."

"Is it Derek?" Allison asked, swirling her straw around her green juice.

"Of course not. That guy was arrested."

Haylie held out a hand to stop the two of them. "1, he was released when they realised it wasn't him. 2, I'm not seeing anyone." She could have told them the truth, but also, she couldn't risk it. Not even them, her best friends. One that was the biggest gossip in town, the other who's family wants to kill him. "I've been at the studio a lot, what do you want me to say?"

Lydia opened her mouth again like it was obvious, but Allison was the one that came to the rescue. "Hey how are you and Jackson?"

That accusing smile dropped, and she rolled her emerald eyes. "He's acting so weird lately. He's too obsessed with Scott to even pay attention to me."

"What do you mean?" Haylie piped up, freezing over her own drink. "What about Scott?"

She rolled those emeralds again. "You know, he still thinks he's on drugs."

"Scott wouldn't..."

"He's not on drugs."

Haylie and Allison defended together before drifting off realising they both spoke too quickly, for different reasons. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Haylie lent forward on the table. "What about you and Scott? Any updates?"

She watched as her friend tried to control her grin unsuccessfully while she nodded. "Yeah, we're good. I really like him." The confession warmed something inside of Haylie, she couldn't help her mind wondering as she thought about Derek. As Allison told them about their dates and sweet moments, she couldn't stop thinking about Derek's hungry hands all over her. The way his eyes caressed her body in the night. She wondered if this was what it felt like, falling in love.
