"I can't find her." Haylie sighed as she moved away from the small, empty reception desk in the quietest part of the hospital after looking everywhere for her.

Derek sighed back. "Then ask for Jenifer, she's the one that's been looking after my uncle."

Haylie kept the phone to her ear as he told her what room his uncle was in but when she got there she was surprised to find it empty. "Well, he's not here either."

"What?"

"He's not here Derek. He's gone." Derek's silence told her all she needed to know. That was a bad thing. "Haylie get out of there right now!" She had never heard his voice turn so terrified. "he's the Alpha, get out!"

Haylie began backing away from the room but the line had gone dead so she knew Derek was on his way. "You must be Haylie." She jumped back when she turned to find a man stood leaning against the wall. He was dressed in a red shirt with a black leather coat covering what she assumed was half of a burnt body if his face was any indication. Derek had told her about him before. About the state he was left in after the fire.

"What are you doing here?" Haylie spun to find a woman behind her. Red hair and a look that said 'I'm crazy' in her eyes. "Visiting hours are over." Haylie's eyes fell down to the nurses uniform as everything clicked into place.

"It was you." She whispered before turning back to Peter. "And you."

Peter cocked his head and opened his mouth to say something before his face fell into a frown. "That's an interesting necklace."

Before Haylie could even reach for the gold around her neck a snapping sounded from Jenifer. Derek stood now with murderous eyes as Jenifer lay unmoving on the floor. "That wasn't nice." Peter smirked. "She's my nurse."

"She's a psychotic bitch helping you kill people. Get behind me." Haylie didn't hesitate as she moved towards him and just for good measure he reached out his hand and pulled her the last two steps to his back roughly.

"You think I killed Laura on purpose?" Derek's grip tightened on her hand as Peter moved towards them. "My own family?" Derek didn't wait for more and with one shove forced Haylie away as he pounced. Peter was too quick and as Haylie remained on the floor, crawling backwards towards the wall she watched as he grabbing Derek by the jacket and threw him so hard into the wall that plaster broke.

"my mind. My personality, were literally burned out of me. I was being driven by pure instinct." He continued as he picked Derek back up off the floor and started to drag him towards Haylie's position. But he stopped and dropped Derek next to the nurses body as he reached to take something out her pocket.

"You want forgiveness?" Derek spat as he stood back up and swung his fist, finally making a connection with Peters face but it did nothing as Peter just gripped Derek's jacket again and connected his head with Derek's nose.

"I want understanding." He said and kicked Derek so hard in the chest he flew to the other side of the hallway. Haylie was still frozen to the floor but she still searched for a weapons he might be able to use to help. "Do you have any idea what it was like for these past few years? Slowly healing. Cell by cell. Even more slowly coming to consciousness. Yes becoming Alpha," Derek spat blood to the ground and looked up enough to meet Haylie's eyes across the hall. "taking that from Laura pushing me over the plater to the healing process. I can't help that."

Determination filled Derek's green eyes as he pushed himself from the ground. "Haylie run!"

She wished more than anything she was braver as she pulled herself from the floor and ran.
