"Look I'm just saying, you could have still told me." Haylie argued as the twins jogged up the stairs to Stiles room. "I would want to be a part of it in whatever way I could be."

Stiles sighed. "Okay you want to know the real reason I didn't tell you?" She nodded and pulled him to a stop in the hallway. "Haylie even when you and I didn't really talk, I was at every recital. I know you don't have a choice and I know you would be there tonight if you could, but I still didn't want to hear it. It's my first, maybe only, game on first line."

She nodded understanding and because of his honesty her decision was easy. "I'll make a call."

He shook his head and continued to his room with her on his tail. "I'm not asking you to miss it. You wanted to know why I didn't tell you that's it." He opened his door.

"Stiles will you shut up and let me do a nice sister thing."

"Stiles!" Haylie turned to the open door first as Stiles took his seat at the desk.

"Yo Daaerek."

Haylie's heart skipped a beat while Derek's eyes went wide and he pointed to the door. Stiles scrambled from his seat to the door, holding it so their dad couldn't see completely in. "What did you just say?" Derek's eyes met hers at her dads question but Stiles shrugged.

"I said, yo dad."

"Whatever." The sheriff shook it off. "Listen, there's something I need to take care off, but I'm going to be there tonight. I'll speak to Haylie when she gets home, she'll understand. It's your first game."

Both guilt and pride swelled in her chest at the sound of her dad's excitement. She just felt bad everyone but her knew it was going to be a choice between twins tonight.

She looked up to Derek and his lips twitched with a smile as he mouthed 'Hey.'

'Hey' she mouthed back and even felt the heat in her cheeks as he winked at her. She couldn't even meet his eyes now just as her dad and Stiles hugged with some heavy pats on the back. She looked back up as Derek raised his eyebrows at her as if to ask why she was blushing now.

But the blush went away when the door closed again and Derek wasted no time in pining her brother to the wall. "Derek." She went to move forward but he ignored her.

"If you say one word," He threatened with a finger in Stiles face.

"Like what? Hey dad, Derek Hales in my room. Bring your gun?" They both fell silent for a second as Haylie let out a breath knowing neither would hurt the other in any way. "that's right buddy. My house. My rules."

Haylie winced slightly when Stiles took it a step further and smacked his hand into Derek's shoulder. Derek looked down to where the connection was made but surprisingly started to nod as he backed up. Haylie's face turned to confusion as Derek even straightened Stile's jacket as he moved out from the wall.

Stiles moved to his desk passing his sister with a whispered "great guy you got there." Before he slumped down in his chair.

"So, does Scott have the necklace?" Derek asked shoving his hands into his jacket pockets.

Stiles sighed. "He's working on it. But there's something else we can try."

"What?" Haylie asked as she moved to stand next to Derek, folding her arms over her chest.

Her brother watched the movement, and looked at the two of them standing next to each other and as much as he tried he still couldn't see what brought them together. Haylie with her beautifully kind face and summer dress standing next to Derek who stood nearly a foot taller with a face that said I'll kill you if you look at me funny.
