Zora found herself meandering around the drive room fiddling with various different things and writing notes on how she may be able to improve the large mining vessel that she would likely call home for the rest of her days.
A sudden screech made her jump slightly and swivel in her chair to the direction of the sound.
"Hey Cat," She sighed as Cat stared at his own reflection in a small pocket mirror seemingly in some sort of mirage caused by his own visage.
"Oh hey there sorry I got lost for a second," He smiled goofily but it soon turned to a look of horror as his eyes trailer over Zora's outfit.
"Are those goalpost heads clothes?" The Cat asked in disgust and surprise.
"Yep, what about it?" She asked crossing my leg and leaning back in the chair I was sat in.
"Honey, the man has no style why would you want to wear his clothes?" Cat questioned.
"Well, it's either I wear clothes with curry stains or this. It's not like you'd ever let me borrow some of yours," I pointed out.
"Fair point..." The Cat trailed off as if deciding whether to say something.
"What is it?" Zora questioned.
"Well, there are still some lady cat clothes on the lower decks and because I am so utterly generous I was thinking I could let you try some on," Cat replied.
Zora's eyes lit up at the thought of some. new clothes that may actually fit her properly. Though she was a little reserved about whether she would like them more than Rimmer's. She found them incredibly comfy and didn't know if they could be beaten in that regard.
"Well what are we waiting for," She grinned.
Cat led her to a part of the ship she had never seen before it was rather dusty and unkempt.
Cat explained that this was where all of the rest of the Cat people used to live before they all set out on various religious quests for the promised land told in the Cat holy book.
Then finally they made it to the place Cat had been talking about."And I found it all with my investigating feet!"
This line of conversation was beginning to bore Zora a little bit but nevertheless, she kept following the Cat massively curious as to where they were going. This area of the ship was outside of the range of Holly and so she was curious to know where every part led.
Eventually, they came out into a large room full to the brim with clothes. The more organised and clean of the lot were of course Cats but there was a selection of women's clothes they were untouched as well as a few accessories.
The journey back was a lot harder for Zora given she was the one carrying all the clothes she almost tripped several times on the way up.
"Hurry up Zora or I'm gonna be late for my nap!" Was all Cat had to say on the matter and although it annoyed her Zora couldn't help but laugh. She still couldn't quite work out if he was really good at not caring or just completely oblivious because he was too focussed on himself. Maybe it was a bit of both. That seemed like the best answer to the brown-haired woman.
"Hey Kryten, little help," Zora called to tbe mechanoid attempting to keep of the clothes in the precariously balanced pile.
"Oh miss Zora! I didn't even see you there."
Kryten rushed over to take some of the dust-covered clothes. "I will get these all cleaned up for you but it may take me a while," he said.Zora followed after him attempting to object saying she would help but the mechanic would have none of it insisting to go enjoy the rest of her day.
"What's going on here?" Lister questioned walking in, lager in hand.
"Cat showed me some lady Cat clothes left behind on the ship that had been left behind. Kryten is cleaning them up for me so I might have something else to wear," Zora explained."Speaking a clothes. Are those Rimmer's? He questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah he said I could wear them," she replied not sure why this was such a big deal. Both Cat and Lister had been incredibly surprised.
"Okay out with it why is it so surprising that I'm wearing Rimmer's clothes?" Zora said crossing her arms.
"Why is it so surprising?" Lister asked in a tone that made it sounds as if that was the dumbest question in the world. "Because Rimmer is the most self-absorbed smegpot to ever live. He never helps us with anything let alone let us borrowed something of his,"
"Hey, I can be generous!" Rimmer chimed in.
"Your as generous as your fashion sense is good," Cat argued looking him up and down in his emerald suit.
"Not true!" Rimmer's defence was falling rather flat. If it weren't for Zora's presence he would have been throwing many insults back.
Zora just laughed to herself at the three.
"Well, you guys have fun arguing here. I'm going to go see Kryten about my clothes."
She gave a mock salute to the three then spun on her heel and headed down the corridor in search of Kryten. He was already ironing several of the items of clothing but all of them were clean. Either folded in neat piles or being ironed.
She thanked Kryten again to which he insisted it was no problem. So off Zora went with her pile of clothes back to her room to try some on. This was where Cat returned insisting that he pick out the outfits for her to try on.
"I have to say Cat," Zora began admiring the look in the mirror. "You do know what you're doing when it comes to clothes."
Lister walked into the room as Zora had on a long red dress. He was carrying to beers and Zora quickly snatched one from him and popped it open.
"Someone's thirsty," Lister commented.
"Well trying on this many clothes with this guy is thirsty work," Zora glanced back at the Cat who still had several outfits lined up for her to try.
"Oh it can't be that bad," Lister dismissed.
"Well, why don't you try on some too," Zora challenged hoping Lister had had enough beers to be in the mood to take it.
A few beers later there was a fashion war going on in Zora's quarters. Lister and Zora were both trying on everything Kryten had cleaned. The cat was judging. Checking out Zora and laughing at Lister as Rimmer entered.
Lister was currently wearing a rather unflattering dress whilst Zora was in a red and black suit with many buttons undone at the top.
"What the Smeg are you, idiots, up to?" He aimed this at Lister and Cat.
"What does it look like Rimmer?" Zora questioned gesturing about the room.
"It's a fashion show goalpost head and Zora is definitely winning," Cat declared with a grin.
"Hey! Why do you think Zora's winning?" Lister objected.
Rimmer briefly scanned over Lister then to his time looking over the clothes Zora was wearing making sure to not take to long for fear of being caught out.
"Zora definitely wins!" Rimmer declared.
"Not fair!"
