Weeks passed, assements were done, and the time for the dance had came. Sam had lightened up even more, but noone could see behind the mask she had put on.
Maddie was with Sam helping her get ready for the dance.
"Come on, Sam. Your hair is going to be down, and straight." Maddie said, holding Sam down onto the stool. She held a hot flatiron.
"Good luck." Sam said, she wasn't very happy about the dance, but Lily and Maddie were forcing her into going. When they ganged up against her, there was no way, Sam could get out of it.
Maddie, picked up a small peice of Sam's red hair. It was very curly, and very uncontrolable. Maddie began to work, and Sam was reading After of her phone. When Sam reached Chapter 18, Maddie had finished.
Sam stood up and looked in the miror. Her hair wasn't so fluffly, and it laid down much better.
"Much better." Maddie stated, Maddie had Sam curl her hair, so it was in a beautiful bun with the curls hanging down. They weren't in their dresses, but their make-up and hair were done. That was faster than Maddie thought.
"Thanks, Maddie." Sam said, with a smile. Maddie nodded and went out of the bathroom. Sam followed, they went into Sam's room, and started to plan out the rest of the night.
"So, we are going to go out to eat with Cora, Mason, Claudia and Kenzie. Unless you want to go with Nikki. I'm sure Andrew with be with her." Maddie said, elbowing Sam.
Sam rolled her eyes. "Yeah, no. I'll go with you guys."
Maddie nodded, and they both got changed. They slipped on their shoes, and Lily took pictures. Sam even wore a big smile for the day. Her smiles weren't as often as they used to be. Well, not true ones at the very least.
Cora's mother picked up everyone, and they went out to eat.
When they reached the dance, they were all happy, and joking around. Andrew was leaning against the wall, looking like he had been waiting for someone. His usual bed head that he had was gone, for a mess style.
The style fit him, very well. His brown hair never like him, as he would say. Though Sam thought he did that bed head style on purpose. The messiness of his hair must have taken him a bit to get, but in the end Sam thought it was worth it.
Andrew smiled at the girls, and Sam stepped out of the group to talk to him.
"Hey." Sam said, smiling.
"Hullo." Andrew said, his british accent was wonderful today. He didn't seem to try and hide it like he did during school.
"Didn't think you would make it." Sam said.
"Nikki told me, I just 'had to come'." Andrew said, mocking Nikki's voice for the last part.
"Maddie forced me." Sam said, with a slight grumbled in her voice. She never liked dances.
"Well, you look very smart" Andrew said, he rubbed the back of his neck. Like he always did, when talking to Sam.
"Smart?" Sam asked, confused. To her it made no sense.
"Smart, nice?" Andrew said, shaking his head. "British term." He stated, and Sam lightly blushed, that wasn't visable under the concealer and other make up.
Sam nodded, and Andrew took Sam's hand and they walked into the dance. Of course Sam wanted to break off the connection, but Sam allowed it. They walked in, and Maddie giggled and told something to Cora, who turned and smiled.
Sam waved at them but Nikki came up like a fangirl on a mission.
"Hey Nikki." Sam said, pulling her hand away from Andrew.
"Hey, Sam." Nikki said, before jumping into her topic. "Where did you find that dress!?" Nikki asked, with a happy glow.
"Dex's, the dress shop the next town over." Sam said, smiling. She suddenly felt okay in the dress.
"Looks like you were made for it." Nikki said.
Sam felt her cheeks get warmer, and was worried it would show through the make-up. Andrew smiled back at Sam, when Sam looked at him, asking for help.
"Well, so Nikki. How many of these dances have you gone too?" Andrew asked.
"This is my second Winter Formal, but I only went to this years homecomming." Nikki replyed, and Andrew and Nikki got into a deep discussion about British dances and the dress code.
Sam slipped away from them and headed towards the concession to get a bottle of water when she saw Cole. Cole gave her a smile, but Sam gave him a scowl.
"Jack ass." Sam greeted Cole, and Cole shrugged.
"It was a bet." Cole simply said.
"Must have been a horrid bet." Sam replyed, with a flare out of rage.
"Whoa, calm it." Cole said, taking a bite out of his candy bar.
"What ever." Sam said, getting her water. Sam walked out, and Cole grabbed her arm.
"Hey, I'm sorry." Cole said.
"What ever." Sam said, pulling her arm free. Sam stormed back into the dance.
