Lily dropped off Andy, and they went to the er. Where they waited about 20 minutes to get into a room. Then another 15 minutes till the x-rays were taken.
Sam was waiting for what seemed forever, for the doctor to come in. She hopped it wasn't broken. Just twisted, and she could play on Saterday.
When the Doctor finally did come in, he didn't bring the news that Sam had hopped for.
"Sorry, but you can't play on Saterday." The Doctor said, "Your ankle is broken."
Those words Sam feared, she wanted to cry, but couldn't. Her season was now over, and she couldn't change it. She couldn't just run more and catch up with everyone. She couldn't just stay off of it for a day or two and play. Nope. No more basketball. Not this year.
Sam gotten a black cast, and had a date for a surgrey to place the bone and keep it. She had no choice anymore. By the time she was released, it was 5:30. Sam didn't care if she was tired. She wanted to go to school. Lily tried to talk her out of it, but it failed in the end.
She gotten changed into sweats, something that went over her cast easily, the cast was water proof so she took a shower as well. She threw her hair up, into a messly done bun and Lily drove them to the school for the day. Sam would also be going to practice, but would not be doing anything but sit and watch.
Slowly but surely Sam made it inside and into the lunch room, where the team was waiting at her normal table, with Nikki. When Sam made it over, she was bombed with questions. She answered what she could.
"Will you be able to play?" Claudia asked.
Sam shook her head, "My season is over." Sam said, sadly. The words hurt herself the most. Her last game. She still couldn't, no she wouldn't believe it. In the back of her head, she hoped it was just a horrid nightmare.
Though, it wasn't. Sam knew this, and so did everyone else. The team would have to play with only five girls, and Sam believed they could make it. If they put their minds together, anything was possible. That's why Sam loved this team, and not any other basketball team.
Her team, never gave up. Never gave in. They did the impossible. The made it to the next round, with only five players. When no one else thought they could. They did, and now they were aiming high for the champisonship.
