Chapter 20: Kiss and make up

Luis Inaki’s POV:

I took a gulp from my beer and stared at the stars. I’ve been thinking about Raigne a lot lately. She’s always on my mind. Is she still mad at me? Does she hate me? Stupid. Of course, she hates you, Inaki. You told her that she was your biggest mistake. Dumb move. I know that I have caused her so much pain which really sucks. I don’t know why I said those awful things to her. Of course, she was not a mistake. Never will. Never was. If truth be told, she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I messed up. Big time. I was already given something good in my life and I just had to be stupid and ruin my chance at happiness.

“I see you’re drinking again.”

“Drink with me, Zeck.” I gave him a bottle of beer which he accepted.

“I went to your condo earlier. Vash told me you went here in Golden Village.” I shrugged my shoulders. I felt so lonely in my condo so I went to my real home. “How’s your new condo?”

“It’s fine. If only Vash won’t always come and eats my food. He doesn’t give me peace.”

He laughed. “What made you decide to move where he stays?” I sighed. It was a spur of the moment thing actually. My old place reminds me so much of Raigne and our memories together so I decided to pack my stuff and move.

“I don’t know either.”

He took a gulp from his beer. “If Missy sees me drinking, she won’t let me hear the end of it.” He said with a smile.

My forehead creased. “You seem okay with it.”

Nagkatunog ang ngiti niya. “Weird, huh?”

“You never liked being nagged.”

“Yes, but Missy has a cute way of doing it. I can’t explain it. With her, it’s just different. Maybe it’s because I love her so much that I had to learn to like it, or perhaps that’s one of the things I find endearing about her.”

I am floored. “Is that you, man?”

He laughed his ass off. “I know it sounds crazy.”

“Surely does.”

“You better not divulge this to Vash.” I laughed. “I know you’re scared, man.” Nawala ang ngiti ko at napatingin sa kanya. “That’s why you always push Raigne away. You’re afraid to let her in completely.” I looked away, didn’t say anything. Or even tried to deny it. I just took a gulp from my beer hoping it would knock me out. “What if, pare sa sobrang pagtulak mo sa kanya, masyado na pala siyang napalayo? Can you take if she chooses to walk away for real this time?” I was stunned. Can I take that? I felt a tightening in my chest with the thought of her walking away and not coming back. Ever. I swallowed the pain.

“Help me get her back.”

I can’t focus on anything because I can’t find Raigne! She’s not at home. I saw her friends at a bar a week ago but they didn’t tell me where she was when I asked them. I knew they were angry at me. I can’t blame them because I know it’s my fault. I tried calling her but I think she turned off her phone for I couldn’t reach her.

“Baka naman nagbabakasyon lang siya, bro.” Said Zeck.

I let out a harsh breath. “I need to find her.”

Biglang bumukas ang pinto ng recording studio. “I have a good news, brother.” Vash said, grinning from ear to ear. “Raigne is back.”

“And you’re about to tell me that you know where she is right at this moment, right?”
