Emma couldn't stop smiling the entire day. It was because of that boy. The boy with the perfect grey eyes and spiked dark hair.

He seemed really sweet and-

no, no, he hardly even knew her.

Emma shook her head and blinked. She never been very social, and moving to yet another new school didn't assess the issue. She was from Washington; so many miles away from Florida. It wasn't that she didn't like Miami...she did, it was just the people. She didn't know anyone. Emma wished her parents weren't divorced. She'd been so sad lately.

That boy-Jax Novoa- seemed to give her hope. That maybe moving to another city wasn't just a stupid page in her life. That maybe it was an entire new chapter.

"Hi dad," Emma said as she opened the door to their jeep.

"Hey Em. Sorry I was so late, the traffic was badass."

Emma and her dad shared most of their physical features. The dark hair and fair skin.

"It's okay." She shook her head.

"So how was your day, sweet pea?"

"Eh, it was alright."

"Did you meet new friends?" He looked over at her hopefully.

"Not really," she breathed. "Or maybe just one."

"Ohhh, who?" Mr. Alonso peeked another look over to Emma.

"This boy on the bus. His name is Jax Novoa."

Her heart began to beat and her cheeks flushed. She stared out the window and shut her eyes for a moment.

What a feeling.
