Jax didn't sleep well on the night of the wedding because he kept thinking of Emma and her long, dark, curly braid. She looked even more amazing than she had on the bus when her hair was loose.

He curled on his side. What will it take to make her like him? Did she like him? He sure as hell liked her. A lot.

Jax moved onto his back and clicked his tongue. He pulled at his hair.

Then he blinked and thought of her until he fell asleep.

Jax opened his eyes and stared at his ceiling.

"Jax! Jax! Wake up!" He heard Rowan screeching from a distance.

He groaned and scratched at his eyes.

"Ugh, Jax!" He heard stomping up the stairs. His bedroom door flew open.

Rowan stood there, already wearing her school uniform. "Get up, lazy bones! It's seven thirty. The bus will be here in twenty minutes. Hurry!"

Jax groaned again and pulled his sheets away. Rowan tossed a shirt at him and walked out of the room.

"Hurry!"

"Jax! Jax! Jax! Hey!"

Jax tapped on his arm to the beat of his song blasting through his headphones. Someone tapped his shoulder. He pulled them off and looked behind him.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Are you okay? I've been calling you for the five minutes," one of his good friends, Diego, laughed.

"Oh sorry. Just....distracted, I guess," he said, scratching at the back of his ear.

"Distracted?" Diego rose an eyebrow.

And against the bus driver's consent, Diego slipped into the empty seat next to Jax.

"Is it about a..." Diego leaned in to Jax's side. "Girl?" He asked.

"What?" Jax rose his eyebrows. "No!"

Diego chuckled. "Alright, who is she?"

He sighed. "The new girl. Emma."

"Emma Alonso?" Diego asked, surprised.

"Yeah." Jax sort of dreamily sighed. "Why the surprised look?"

"I don't know." Diego shrugged. "Emma doesn't really seem...your type."

"I have a type?"

"Yeah! I kinda thought you'd want a girl like Andi."

"Andi?" Jax looked surprised.

Andi was one of Jax's best friends; they've known each other since kindergarten. She was more of a tomboy and Emma was much more girly. In a good way, of course.

"Well, at least now I know you're into Emma. Maybe I could help you out." Diego winked.
