Emma's arms moved upward so that they were wrapped around his neck and shoulders. They pulled away and just leaned into each other.
"Bye," she whispered with a smile.
"Bye Em," he said.

Emma opened the front door while heavily blushing. She took a deep breath and bit at her lips.
"Hey Em," her dad said from the kitchen.
"Hey dad!" She said way too cheerfully.
Mr. Alonso spinned around and looked at his daughter. "How was your night?"
Emma blushed again as she thought of Jax. "It was....wonderful! Just, wonderful!" She skipped up the stairs.

Emma hummed and cleaned up her room before she went to bed. She smiled at everything as she hung up a sweater on her white coat rack.
"Who's the boy?" Maddie asked, barging into Emma's bedroom. She crossed her arms.
Emma turned around and her smile faded at the sight of her step sister.
"What boy?" She blinked.
"Oh, come on, Emma. You're humming up a storm and it's sort of creeping me out." Maddie made a face.
"Oh, c-come on, Maddie. There's no guy!" Emma looked nervous.
Maddie crossed her arms and looked straight into Emma's eyes.
"His name is Jax." Emma sighed.
"I knew it! Novoa!" Maddie leaped up from Emma's bed.
"Yeah." Emma nodded. "Wait, how do you know Jax?"
"He...has a reputation."
Emma blinked. A reputation? What?
"What do you mean?" Emma asked. "What reputation?"
"He dated most of my friends. Broke all of their hearts. He cheated."
"Cheated?" Emma closed her closet door. "Maddie, if you're lying to me-"
"Look, Emma, I know that we're don't get along well, but I still want to make an effort to look after you." Maddie shrugged.
Emma nodded. "I appreciate that, Maddie. Thanks." She walked over to her window to shut the blinds. "And...likewise."
Maddie gave a half hearted smile. "Thanks."
"Now," Emma began, "what else do you know about him?"
