Emma couldn't help but wonder if Jax planned out the whole night or if he just simply walked to her house without the intention of taking her out anywhere. But, he was here. With her. And they were together.

They walked the streets and she quietly debated whether or not to confront him about the fact that he cheated. Emma shut her eyes and sighed to herself.

She frowned to herself. She quickly decided that she was going to tell him. It was going to keep bothering her if she didn't.

"Jax?" She asked quietly.

He looked at her. "Yes?"

"Okay, so I found something out about you and...and well, I-"

"That I used to cheat?" He asked.

Emma blinked. She was bewildered by how casual he said it. "Yeah."

"Emma," he said. They stood on the sidewalk, staring at each other. "Listen. Okay, I did cheat. Once." Emma widened her eyes and moved a little, crossing her arms over her chest.

Her throat tightened the way it did when she got upset.

"But that was because she broke up with me, okay? She said that we were over and I went out with my friends that night. My friend, Matt, had four packs of beer...and I couldn't help it. I drank so much. I was so hurt," Jax explained to her.

Emma furrowed her eyebrows.

"And yes. I met this girl and we kissed and made out and somehow somebody found out and told her. My girlfriend at the time, Charlotte. She freaked out."

"I thought you said that she broke up with you?" Emma wondered.

"She did. Apparently she didn't mean it or something."

Emma nodded slowly. She wished she could believe him.

"Jax," she said, avoiding all eye contact with him.

"Emma," he said, looking down at her. "Please look at me."

She began to talk but then he cut her off. "Listen, Em. I would never cheat on you. It was something I did because of self pity and I regret that I did it."

"Jax."
