"You making hot dogs?" I ask Julez as I walk into the kitchen.

"Uh yeah.. for me." He said.

I look into the pot and see three hotdogs. Julez looked at me and shrugged his shoulders.

"What?"

"You really need three hot dogs?" I ask.

"Yeah.. I like to cut them up." He said turning the stove off. "And put them in noodles or just eat them with ketchup."

I scrunch my face up. "Ew no bread?"

"No bread." He said shaking his head.

"You're childish." I say walking to the fridge.

"And you're ugly."

I open the fridge and grab my unfinished FIJI water that I've been sipping on for the past few hours in between my classes online. I'm kind of sad that covid has ruined the chances of me turning up for my senior year of high school. A bitch is ready to graduate and get the hell out of school, but I'm asked sad that I'm not gonna be able to do any of the senior activities. Usually we have a senior luncheon and then prom, and then a trip to Disney World, but Covid messed up our whole flow. It's fucked up if you ask me.

"I can't even believe that I'm a senior " I say shaking my head.

Julez smacked his lips. "No for real, you was a little.. delayed." He chuckled.

"I don't care. I made it." I say shrugging my shoulders. "I'm just street smart that's all."

"So you and Roc are still together?" Julez asked grabbing the ketchup from the fridge.

I nod my head, "Yeah.. Why?" I ask squinting.

"He always makes you cry.. I'm sick of that shit." He said making me turn my head.

"Ou, you better not let mom hear you saying that." I say shaking my head.

"Well I am.. When are you gonna give nice guys a try?" He asked.

"Um, Roc is nice." I said. "He loves me and he spoils me, I couldn't imagine being with anybody else." I admit.

"Hm, well I guess so." Julez said rolling his eyes.

"Don't be butt hurt, you're still my favorite boy.." I say patting his cheek softly.

He turned his head and slapped my hand away from his face. "Stop it." He said walking out the kitchen.

"I love you Julez." I say smiling. "You're so cute." I smile.

"Yeah thanks." He chuckled. "I love you too."

Julez walked away from me and I turned around laughing. My phone started ringing but I didn't answer it because I was busy making me a bowl of cereal. Honey Nut Cheerios, to be exact. Nothing comes in between me and my Cheerios. After I made my cereal, I look at my phone and it was my dad who had been blowing me up. I couldn't believe my eyes. He never calls me, so I decided to be the biggest person and call him back.

The phone rang a few times before the FaceTime called picked up. The it was dad, and he was accompanied by baby Heiress sitting on his lap. I definitely love her she's my favorite.

"Hey dad, you called me? I was cooking.." I say softly.

"I just wanted to call and check on you." He said shocking me a little bit. "How are you?"

"I'm good, just been dealing with school and stuff." I tell him.

"So we doing a family vacation in Mexico, will you be there?" He asked. "It would make me very happy if you came."

"Yeah I'll be there." I say softly. "Can I bring Rocko?" I ask hesitantly.

I hear dad chuckle. "Yeah, I don't know about that. It's a family vacation." He said.

"Well just think about it please? Roc is my family!" I tell him. "I gotta go.." I say with a slight attitude.

"Bye Trinity." Daddy said before I hung up.

"You know he's not gonna change his mind right?" Julez said putting his plate in the sink.

I turn my head and roll my eyes slowly. "Yes I know." I whine.

"And then what he'd say?"

"Nothing I hung up on him, but he did say 'bye' first." I tell my friend Sasha as we indulged in a pepperoni pizza.

"Look your dad loves you and maybe he's actually trying to show it. But let's be real, he's never going to accept the fact that you have a boyfriend. That's just your dad,  it's his duty to hate your boyfriend." Sasha said shrugging her shoulders. "My dad still hates Anthony and we've been together for almost four years."

Sasha is one of my closest friends from school. She's really the only girl that I ever gravitated to. Plus, she like the only other black girl in my school besides these two other girls, who refuse to admit that they're black. But, Sasha is really cool and down to earth, she likes to hang out and eat food just like me. Besides my sisters, she's the person I talk to and hang out with.

"Well your dad was around forever, mines wasn't and he still acts like he doesn't want to be bothered with me

"Well your dad was around forever, mines wasn't and he still acts like he doesn't want to be bothered with me.." I say softly.

Sasha looks at me and drops her head at angle scoffing. "Girl your dad is rich as hell, maybe it's not a bad thing that he thinks you don't wanna be bothered with him."

"What are you talking about?" I ask confused.

"I'm saying use him never being there for you as a way to, ya know, get what you want. It's called a guilt trip. And it's free 99."
Sasha said nodding her head.

"Girl do you really think that's going to work?" I ask.

Sasha sighs, "Yeah bitch. If you do it right." She said. "Now have I ever steered you wrong?"

"Yes." I quickly respond. "All the time."

"Okay whatever. Go to Mexico, mooch off your dad and watch how much he'll come around, because he'll start to think that you need him. Once he makes one wrong move stop talking to him and he spoil you some more." Sasha advised.

"Okay and how do you know this is gonna work?" I ask raising my eyebrow.

"I do it to Anthony and my mom all the time."  She said grabbing another slice of pizza.

I shake my head and pick up my phone from the nightstand. I was contemplating on calling my dad and accepting that vacation to Mexico or not. Maybe one guilt trip won't hurt.
