"Barbados was so much fun." I tell my mom happily. "I got a boyfriend again! I'm in love!" I smiled widely making my mom crack a smile.
"I seen that." she said softly. "I figured that you guys would get back together soon and I'm happy for you." Mama said kissing Xia on the cheek.
"Are you?" I ask touching my heart.
My mom hesitantly sighed, "Yes." She finally answered.
"I just want you to be happy for me and proud of me. I'm well aware being with Rakim is taking a big risk but it's a risk I'm willing to take."
Rakim and I are doing wonderful. As a matter of fact, we're more in love than we've ever been. We live in the same complex which makes it easier to see each other. Just because we are together doesn't mean we're living together right away. I made it clear to him that I want to take things slow this time.
I think now that I'm figuring all of this out, I want to go to college like I'd planned to before I got pregnant. Xia didn't really stop me from going to college it was everything else around me. The drama with my dad and the drama with rakim and Jordan. I just needed a mental break.
"Do you think that Jordan is going to be okay with Rakim around her?" Mama asked.
I furrowed my eyes and rolled them. "Well I don't know because he's not texting me back or responding to my calls. I heard a rumor that he has a girlfriend but I want him to tell me himself."
"That's fair." Mama said.
"I've been respectful and honest with Jordan, so the fact that I'm not receiving that same respect and honesty is really disheartening." I express to my mom. "I still love him and everything. I wish him the best but I'm moving on with my life."
