Joy. Happiness flooded through me when Sophia forgave me. Why was it such a big deal? I have no idea. Maybe because that girl holds a piece of my heart and I had known her for so long. Okay. Something about this resolution is making me feel weird. But I cannot ignore the feeling of happiness that is in my blood now. That's an odd statement isn't it?
I apologized to David, Mackenzie too even though she was technically not harassed by me, then Liv, and finally Sophia. Is it weird that I feel it was the hardest to apologize to both Sophia and Liv and yet Sophia is technically just Liv's best friend? I just...I don't know it makes me feel relieved. Its freeing. Sophia accepting my apology gave me so much relief. Although technically Liv and I are still not back to being us. But I feel we are getting closer every day. The letter I gave her last night, I know she read it. It is just a matter of time till we are back to being us, the Everett siblings. The weekends are here. My exams went well and next week is the winter ball. I cannot wait to ask Mackenzie to the ball.
Sophia made me promise to her that next time I feel the need to ask her anything, I could text her instead of chasing her down the school. Or better yet call her. I know she accepted my apology and was laughing like she used to. But that did feel like a jab to my heart. Yet, I was happily accepting that because the alternative of her not accepting my apology is just something I do not want to imagine. She smiled at me and laughed. She also said some joke about me running with my lanky legs or something. I laughed with her, it felt good to have her back. I was happy. I am happy. Now, I need to ask Mackenzie to the ball and need to talk to Liv.
After I apologized to Sophia, and she tried to joke with me. We both turned to tell Liv and Mac about a joke when we both realized neither of them were there. I asked Sophia any idea where they were, and she just shrugged. In fact, her specific question was. 'Is Liv friends with your girlfriend?' I just nodded. Sophia's face changed a little. But she shook her head and changed her expression again. I noticed it, but didn't comment. For that I received a cute smile. Wait did I just say Sophia's smile was cute? That halted me in my track. It is noticed by none other than Sophia herself. She is with me currently as we are searching for both Mac and Liv both of whom seem to have disappeared completely.
We searched everywhere. The classrooms, the library, bathrooms, even the janitor's closet. Sophia's idea not sure why either of them would be there though. Then after not finding them we both went towards our car. As I climbed in my car Sophia was still with me. She agreed to wait with me for them to emerge from wherever they are. When suddenly her expression changed a little. I tried to read it but just as fast as it appeared it disappeared as well. I tried to look at what she saw but all I saw was nothing. No one. Not even a car or a bird or anything. So, what was she looking at?
"Sophia you okay?" I asked only for her to look at me and give me weird wry smile.
Then my phone buzzed. Two times. One after the other. That only means one thing. Both Liv and Mac texted me at the same time. Now, Mac came with me today and Liv came with Dad who left the house at wee hours of the morning with a promise to return early. Let's see if he holds onto that promise. As I took my phone out of my pocket, I noticed two texts and just as I suspected. They were from Mac and Liv. Both saying essentially the same thing to me. They are not going home with me and for me to go and not wait for them. I have no idea how either of them would go home though. So, I texted back asking them exactly that.
Before I got a response, a car came speeding into the parking lot. Not near my car but both Sophia and I got out to see who it was. It looked like an old Camaro. It stopped opposite of my car. A guy and a girl stepped out of it. I could just see their backs. Then I see my sister hugging the girl with so much force. I have never seen her hug someone this tightly. That's odd. I shared a look with Sophia who apparently was thinking the same thing. Then I saw Mac shaking hands with them. Liv shook hands with the guy then she punched the guy's arm. Okay, they seem to know each other and are friendly. Who are these people? And why is she introducing Mac to them? Also, why the hell did she not reply to me?
