Chapter 18

After 1 week
Crystalline's POV
Since that day, he keeps coming to my office every lunch just to check if I already ate. We of course talk a lot especially when he takes me to the restaurant or cafe near the company.

Now, I'm reading and sketching some designs since I have no papers to sign for today. When a someone comes in crying, I look up and see a boy.

"What's wrong?" I stand up and pull him to the couch. "I need help, my mother is at the hospital. She has a leukemia, I need money for her medication and hospital bills. I know you don't know me but please help me. I don't know what to do" I sigh, "What's your name?"

"Eric" he sob, "Eric, I will help you. Don't worry, how much do you need?" I softly ask. "Thank you so much! Your so kind! How can I repay you?" I smile at him and pull him up from kneeling position. "It's fine, let's worry about your mother first. How much do you need for her medication?" As I ask that I heard the door opening and see Ace. "I need about half a million" I take a check and sign it then give to him. "I give some extra, give her a gift and shop for groceries. Tell me if she gets well and about the repay let's talk about it another time. Now go and check to your mother" he hug me, "Thank you for this, it's not true that your heartless and cold. You're so kind and beautiful, thank you so much! I promise I will repay this" with that he walk out and bow to Ace in the way out.

"What is that?" He ask as I get my phone and fix my table. "His mother has leukemia and he needs money, so I help him and tell him to not worry about the repay. We will talk about it another time when his mother is fine" I heard silence so I look up to see him smiling.

"Why are you smiling? You look creepy" he chuckle, "well I didn't know that you're so kind" I turn around and face him. "He loves his mother that he's willing to put his pride behind him and come to me. That's what love do, right? It makes you go crazy and careless just to love that person but sometimes people love the wrong person. He's lucky to have a mother that loves him" I walk towards the door and turn to him, "let's go?" He shake his head and follow me out.

"how do you know that his mother loves him?" He ask, "I see her before I even become the CEO. I work here and see her at the lobby to deliver food for him" I remember those times that I would always see them. I was so jealous of him, he's mother loves him. I do have a mother which is Louisa but you know the love from a real mother? I want to have that but I can't.

Ace's POV
When we arrive at the cafe, we went to the back and sit there. We ordered our food and talk for a while. It's been a week and so far, everything is good. Sometimes she's stubborn and want to finish her work then eat. She's a hardworking person. Now that we are talking and laughing, I can tell that she's a kind person complete opposite to what I thought she is.

I stare at her as she laugh remembering a funny story. She's so beautiful, her cloudy grey eyes is so captivating. Her raven black hair hug her perfect face so well.

"Ummm...hello, why are you staring?" I shake my head as she look at me cutely. This girl, what are you doing to me?

"Ace! I'm talking to you" she snap, I blink my eyes and smile, "it's nothing" she rolled her eyes, "nothing? You are staring at me and it's nothing? Is there something on my face?" I shake my head no, "okay then, oh our food is here"

We eat silently then she said that she need to finish something so I walk her back before going home.

Crystalline's POV
As I enter my office, I saw Shabby talking to someone. "I'll just wait here" the man said, "No need she's here" he turn around and saw Val.

"Good afternoon, Val. What brings you here?" I said with a serious tone. "About Saxon group of company..." I raise my eyebrow and tell him to follow me.

We enter my office and nod at him to continue, "they've been trying to persuade me to invest to them" my eyebrows furrow in confusion. "They?" Are they multiple owners to that company? "Yes, they. Maddison and Cassius, you didn't know that they are getting married?" I shake my head no. "Well they are and they are the one who keeps persuading me but I tell them that I don't want to" he added annoyed.

"Do you tell them why?" I ask, "No, our deal is confidential, no one but trusted people should know about it" I smirk, "Good, keep it up. I don't want them to know who are you investing in, keep it a secret for now, do you have anything more to say?" He shake his head no. "Then you can go, thank you for saying this to me" he nod and shake my hand then left.

Keep trying Maddy, I will just sit here and watch. You keep me entertained. I smile and go back to work.
