Chapter 20

Crystalline's POV
I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I groan and lazily grab my phone.
I didn't bother checking who's the caller, I just answer it. "Yes?" I ask in my sleepy voice. "I'm here, are you ready?" My eyes widen, I look at the time and it's already 10 in the morning. "Shit! Wait for me, 20 minutes" with that I end the call and rush to the bathroom.
Then I wear my clothes that I prepared yesterday, do my makeup. I rush downstairs and see Ace. "I'm sorry, I'm late. My alarm didn't go off"

"It's fine, before we go to the office. How about we go for a brunch?" I look at the time and it's almost 10:30, "That's a good idea. This time it's my treat" I stated before he even say anything. I pull him outside and get in his car. We stop at a restaurant near the mall and eat there.

After eating we arrive at the office almost 12 in the afternoon. I bid my goodbyes and rush to my office. As I arrive, I saw Shabby at her desk. "There you are, where have you been? It's late. You have a meeting later with few your investors, 2pm" I walk to my office and saw a lot of papers. I just sigh and do everything.

While doing my work, Shabby keep bugging me about Ace. "Just tell me! You two have been so close this past few weeks, give me details!" I glare at her. "Can we talk about this other time, I'm doing something" she back up slowly to the door, "okay, don't be mad. Bye!" With that she rush out. I shake my head at her antics.

I was almost done on the papers when Shabby said that the meeting is about to start in 10 minutes. I hurriedly fix my desk and rush out.

I enter and see almost everyone is here. "Good afternoon, Ms. Quinn" they greet back. I smile and greet them back. We wait for a couple of minutes before starting.

As I'm discussing some plans and statistics when someone barge in. "That woman is a thief!" I look to the door and see Maddy. "What are you doing here?" I ask calmly even though I'm fuming inside.

"I'm here to take back what's mine!" I raise an eyebrow, "yours?" She glare at me and look at the 5 new investors of our company. Before they are on her side but since she betray and lie to them, they break their deal.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you on my side?!" I just scoff and sit back down. "No we are not, that is long gone when you lie to us!" One of them shouted. "He's right, you even try to seduce my husband!" Another one yell. "I didn't do any of that! I have a fiancé!" They just scoff and ignore her.

"Don't ignore me! We are talking!" I can see her fuming. "And we don't like talking to you" I can see everyone smiling even me.

"Arrrghhh! and you, that's why you don't want a deal with me because you're investing in her company?!" I look at Val and see him smiling. "That's right!" She look at me and him, "But I'm much better" she argued. "No thank you, she's smart, beautiful and kind...Unlike you" I look at Maddy's face and laugh. "I'm sorry but look at your face, HAHAHA does it hurt to know the truth?" I smirk at her.

"You! You freaking bitch! You keep ruining my life since we are younger!" I glare at her. "Oh, so I'm the one at fault!" I walk closer to her and glare her down. "Go away, before I call the guards!" She smirk and was about to slap me when someone hold her wrist, "I dare you to hurt her and you will see hell" I look at who said that and see Ace. "Let go of me!" She tried getting out of his grip but he didn't let her. "I'm her lawyer and I can sue you for assaulting her. We have a lot of witnesses here that can testify" he calmly explained. There's a few minutes of silence before he let her go. She look at me and said "we're not yet done" then she walk out.

I sigh and sit back down, "are you okay?" He kneel in front of me and check my body, "did she hurt you?" I hold his hands and tell him, "I'm fine, she didn't hurt me. You stop her before she could" he smiled, "ok then, when is your meeting ending so we can have lunch together?" I look at them and see them looking at us. I feel my cheeks redden, "I just have to end it then we're done, wait for me at my office" he nods and go out.

I turn around and continue the meeting, thankfully no on ask about what happened earlier. "That's all thank you for your patience and for listening. Sorry about earlier" they all smile and bow. "It's not your fault, it's that bitch!" I smile gratefully and lead them out. I check the time and and it's about 3:30pm. I rush to my office and see Ace, "I'm sorry for waiting"

"It's fine, come on. Let's eat!" He tug me out and I quickly grab my bag from the couch.

"My treat, okay? No buts" he just sigh and nod. We go to our usual spot and order our food. After eating he walk me back to my office. "Thank you for what you did earlier with Maddy"

"It's nothing, by the way, can I ask you something?" I open my door and sit at the couch, "go ahead"

"Canyougoonadatewithme?" He speed talk, "what?" I ask confuse. He deeply inhale then exhale, "Can you go on a date with me?" I look at him shock.
"Date? I mean....." I think about it for a minute then, "okay" he smile and hug me, "I'll pick you up, 6 pm tomorrow" then he stand up, "I'm going now, see you tomorrow" I wave goodbye and watch him go. When he's gone, I call Shabby in and tell her what happened today.

"Really? I think he likes you" I blush. "You think so?" She grin, "what are you saying? Like what else do you call that?" I shrug, "friendly" she gasp, "shut up, don't go to work tomorrow, I'll do everything tomorrow. Just enjoy your day" I stand up and hug her. "Thank you, love yah!" She hug me back then we pull away.

We talk for a couple more minutes before going back to work until 9pm.
