Kai and mei made sure akira was safe. Which she was.

So after Kai decided to pay gon a visit. "I'll see you later okay?" Kai told mei

"Where are you going?" Mei asked.

"Um- I'm gonna check on someone okay?" Kai said leaving. Mei was a little confused

"Who?"

"Gon, duh! He was odd earlier so I'm gonna check up on him dipshit" Kai said. Mei nodded.

"Alright! But don't be to late when you get home ok?" Mei said leaving the opposite way. Kai nodded and walked to gon's house. He was no one in the driveway. Kai knocked at the front door. 

Gon opened it. "Hey kai!" Gon said.

"Bang!" Kai said making a fake gun with his fingers. Kai let himself in. "Alright! We need to talk mister!" Kai said coming closer to gon.

"About?" Gon mumbled.

"Why you didn't wanna help us with the whole akira thing" Kai said making his way up to gon's room.

"Oh-" gon followed behind. "Stuff- " he said closing the door behind him.

"What what are those stuff?" Kai asked.

"Its just me and her never had good history- and you know it" gon said.

"Is this about middle school?" Kai said raising an eyebrow.

"Mhm-" gon nodded.

"It wasn't that bad! It was just a little rough. Plus im positive everyone forgot about it" kai smiled.

Gon looked at Kai and looked down. "It's not just that-" gon whispered.

"Then? What is it?"

"H-he died...." Gon whispered.

Kai was shocked. "I thought he moved away?!"

"Anita ruined him... And he couldn't handle it-" gon said tearing up.

Kai stared at gon and then touched his hand. "Im sorry-" Kai whispered. "That sucks-"

Gon nodded and let out a few tears.

"It is-" gon said. Kai grabbed his other hands and held them tightly. Gon looked up at Kai "so that is why I hate her! And I will never help her-" gon whispered.

Kai stared up at gon and nodded. "I won't push you anymore" Kai said. Gon nodded and made his forehead touch kai's. "Im sorry" Kai said hugging gon.

"Its fine..." Gon said making his tears stop.

Kai and gon hugged for a little longer. "Hey where's killua?" Kai mumbled.

"I don't know-" gon said.

"He's the boyfriend isn't he supposed to help you?" Kai said pulling away.

"Um-" gon started but got cut off.

"Makes me feel like I'm the boyfriend, which feels weird considering I'm with mei- so I'm going to call him" Kai said standing up. He pulled out his phone and dialed killua.

Gon laid in bed and stared at the ceiling. He wiped his tears away.

"Yo! Killua what are you doing?" Kai said. "Are you sure- that sounds...weird" Kai laughed. "Mhm- I'm gonna believe you on this one, but look my boy needs you so get your ass here! Ok bye" Kai said hanging up.

"What's wrong?" Gon asked.

"He said he's doing something- but he will be here" Kai said laying next to gon. "Don't make this weird ok? I'm just gonna wait until killua comes back"

"You made it weird by saying 'don't make this weird'  so its weird" gon said.

"No you made it weird by saying I made it weird. So now it's extra weird"

"No! Now its more weird by you saying its weird to begin with!"

"No you made it awkward now and weird because-

Mei was currently in the couch scrolling through his phone 'where the fuck is my man?'

Mei though as he placed his phone down.

He walked to the kitchen and got a bag of chips. He looked at his phone and was about to call Kai.

Mei looked out of the kitchen window. He was someone walking towards the house.

"Kai!" Mei said smiling. He unlocked the door and made his way back to the couch.

The door opened "finally! I was worried for a moment kai!" Mei said. Mei didn't hear kai say anything. "Okay... Well we should watch a movie!" Mei asked turning around to face Kai.

Until...

"Wait- you aren't...."

"Well look who finally came home!" kai laughed! Killua entered the room to see Kai and gon in bed.

"Hi killua!" Gon smiled.

Killua smiled "hey?" He said sitting in the bed. "Sooo? What's this?" Killua laughed.

"Gon cheated on you with me" Kai smirked.

"Wait wha-" gon said but got cut off with Kai kissing gon's cheek "kai! What the hell!" Gon laughed.

"Anyways I'll be going home now! Mei is probably worried for me" Kai said standing up.

Gon and killua nodded.

"Cya losers later!" Kai said leaving

"So where were you?" Gon asked. Killua looked up at gon and smiled

"No where important. At least I'm here now" killua said leaning close to gon. "Bean" killua said kissing gon.

Gon giggled and wrapped his arms around killua. "Indeed" gon said kissing back.

Kai laughed to himself while leaving gon's house. He made his way back to his house. Kai played with his keys and hummed a song.

He finally made his home. He unlocked the house and continued humming. The house was dark.

Kai turned on the lights and made his way to his room. "Oh mei! Where are youuuu! I'm here! Ready for some...." Kai stopped when he opened his room door.

He stared for a moment. Dropped his keys and stared.

"Mei..." Kai whispered.

Kai felt tears fill his eyes. He felt sick.

"Mei..." Kai said walking backwards.

He fell on the floor and covered his mouth. He sobbed his eyes out and barely could breath. "Oh my god- oh my god-" Kai repeated.

He took off his glasses and wiped his tears away. He was shocked. He could barely react.

Kai took a peck at the room again. He quickly looked away and ran to the kitchen he dialed the police and was in tears

He fell to the floor and sobbed.

Kai was outside while the police looked through his house.

Killua and gon ran up to kai and hugged him "kai-" gon whispered. Kai didn't say a word.

Mei was pronounced dead.
