S2 Chapter 38

Kai's POV

The sounds of sirens ring, of course.

Another case...

It's nothing new here. There's always people missing.

I start my day with praying,

Praying, asking if mei is okay.

Then ask if gon and killua are safe too. I go to school, and do some of my work, no one approaches me anymore. I'm so lonely now...

The only person is quinn she comes to me. I wouldn't say I'm not happy, it's nice having some company. But... I rather be with the guy who was with me my whole life...

"So.... Now I'm embarrassed" quinn said sitting on the grass. I sat next to her.

"Well, no offense. You should've know killua would deny your feelings- he loves gon... And has been crazy without him" I said.

"I know... I guess I just wanted to see if maybe I had a chance..." Quinn said looking down. I looked away and looked up at the sky. "Do you miss mei.." quinn asked.

"Of course I do.... We did everything together-" I said chuckling.

"I have to ask... Why do you do the things you do?" Quinn asked. I looked at her confused. "Drugs.... One night stands... Self harm..." She said.

I bit my lips and looked away. "I guess... It's distraction.... Life really did change once I lost mei... And the only ways I get distracted is by doing. That." I said.

It's the truth.

I just don't know how to handle my boyfriend's death. So I just do crazy shit to myself.... I know it isn't healthy. I know it isn't right.

But losing someone really hurts...

Damn.

"Kai..." Quinn whispered.

"Hm?" I said looking at her.

"Can you distract me too... I need a distraction" she said. I looked at my phone and just nodded.

"Fine" I said standing up. "My place later tonight" I said leaving.

Sometimes I just wanna say no. And that I need to change. But- I can't.

"Oh hey it's kai! The player" someone yelled. I rolled my eyes. "you know you suck ass! My friend told me you said someone else's name when she hooked up with you" they said laughing.

I ignored as usual.

I don't have time for assholes like them. Sure I say someone else's name during our one night stand, but I don't care.

I went home, and got ready. I looked at my room and saw pictures of mei. I smiled remembering how we used to be happy.

I sighed and again flashback after flashback.

"You know... I sometimes think you're parents will one day barge in your room, and see us here- you know...." Mei said chuckling.

"I don't care, let them barge in and yell there ass off. As I said years ago. 'im happy being gay-" I said wrapping my arms around kai.

"I'm so confused kai, are you gay or bi" mei asked chuckling.

"We've been through this so many times! I'm bi! With a preference of boys!" I whined. Mei chuckled.

"Your so cute... " Mei said leaning down at me. I smiled and slightly blushed. Mei reached for my glasses that were in my nightstand. He put them on for me. "We should change. I don't want your parents to kill us for the 100th time"

"But- I like cuddling..." I said.

"Cuddling isn't the only thing we did, come on. There gonna see us like this any minute" mei said standing up. I sat up from bed and wrapped my arms around mei. Mei chuckled and looked at me. I slowly leaned in and gave him a long kiss.

Mei pulled away. "You drive me crazy asshat" I said.

"I know dork"

I came back to reality when I heard quinn come in my room. "Hey kai"

"Hey..." I said putting the picture in my drawer. "Ready?"

Quinn nodded. I nodded back and walked over to her.

Again. I knew this was wrong. And unhealthy. But- my brain just says

"Do it. You're life is already fucked up anyways"

"Kai-" quinn moaned.

"Kai-" mei whispered.

I slowly laid quinn down in bed and crawled up to her.

As I kissed her. I just couldn't think straight. Just flashback as always.

"Kai" mei said wrapping his arms around my neck. But in reality it was quinn.

"I-" I muttered.

"Kiss me kai" mei said. But again... It was quinn who said it.

I felt my vision go blurry like it always does when I'm in this situation. I quickly shaked my head. It's not mei.

Kai focus.

Focus.

"I know you love me kai- sure... You're sleeping with other people... But you know it's me who you love right. Me. Mei." Mei said. I then realized its my imagination thinking about mei. "You live me right kai?" Mei said tugging on my shirt. "Me. Only me.
Kai..."

I started heavy breathing.

"Stop..." I whispered.

"Come on kai... You love me... Right?" Mei whispered. "You need to learn... How to let me go..."

My eyes widen.

Letting go...

"Your going crazy... It's my fault. I should've never opened the door- maybe if I didn't, I would still be here. Giving you satisfaction and being the one in bed with you, unlike these people you bring home" mei said.

"But... You can't go back in time... So kai. Let me go- and move on" mei whispered. "Let me go..."

"I can't..." I whispered.

"Please. Let me go...." Mei whispered. He leaned in and it felt as if he was gonna give me a kiss. But I came back to reality.

Quinn.

I then heard a knock on the door.

Saved by the bell.

A/n: I have no idea, if this chapter made much sense. But I just wanted you to understand kais perspective. Since a lot of you kinda hate him? Dislike him? Idk. But yeah
