happy holidays pt.1 - chapter 6

Elizabeth's pov

I woke up at 4:16am, it was the day before I flew out to see my family. Everyone on my team had plans to see their family, even Spencer. I smiled to myself knowing none of my friends would be alone on Christmas. I walked over to my dresser and grabbed my outfit of the day, it was jeans with a sweater that Spencer had gotten me. I walked into my bathroom and started my shower. After I was showered and dried of I changed and brushed and dried my hair. I brushed my teeth and did my makeup. I missed my Mom, dad and of course my sister so much. I just wanted to get there. They moved the day after I got my job with the BAU, they now lived in Vegas and I was excited to visit there. I knew I was in for a treat and I was ready to see my family. I was staying there for a week since Hotch gave everyone a week with their families.

At the airport

I boarded the plane and sat down in my seat. I then noticed someone sat down beside me. I looked up and saw the one and only Dr. Spencer Reid. My mouth flew open and his face seemed just as shocked. "El-Elizabeth..What are you doing on this flight?" He asked before putting his book down, of course he was reading. "I-I'm going to see my family" I said "Your family lives in Vegas? My mom lives there" He said. I nodded "They moved there after I got my job with the BAU" I said softly. He smiled "Good for them and you" He said with a playful smirk. I laughed and shoved him gently but him being Spencer whined and threw his head back and threw a 'fit', I laughed harder making him smile and laugh as well. Me and Spencer were best friends by now if you couldn't tell.

Landing

I had fallen asleep only to be woken up by Spencer "We're here" He said softly. I nodded and grabbed my stuff as he grabbed his. We walked off the plane together. I was greeted by my little sister running at me. I was beside Spencer so he smiled as I picked her up off the ground and hugged her tightly. My eyes started to water as I held her in my arms. She cried into my shoulder "I missed you" She said softly. I just rubbed her back trying to get her to calm down. Not to long after I sat my sixteen year old sister down, my mom came over to me with y dad and  they both hugged me tightly. I smiled and hugged back tightly as well. Spencer rubbed the back of his neck and smiled even more. Soon they pulled away and looked at Spencer. "Do you have a secret boyfriend?" Nicole asked with a giggle. "O-o-oh no, we are just friends and co-workers actually" I said softly. "My mom lives here and we happened to get the same flight" Spencer said. "Well if you and your mother don't mind, we'd love to have you guys over for Christmas! I m amusing you are Spencer? Liz talks about you all the time!" My mother said. I turned bright red and I forced a laugh and gave her the 'stop talking' look. Spencer chuckled and wrapped an arm around me gently. "Well I will have to talk to my mom" He said softly before pulling me into a warm hug. "Goodbye Liz" He whispered in my ear making me shiver as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "B-b-bye Spence" I whispered. We pulled away and he walked away. "Are you sure he isn't your boyfriend?" Nicole asked and I pushed her playfully before grabbing my stuff and running out of the airport hearing Nicole's footsteps follow.

At home

I was in my old bedroom settling down from the rush of seeing my family and getting a hug from THE Dr. Spencer Reid. He smelled like books, mint and he kind of had a flower scent to him. My heart began to race at the thought of him. Oh no...I was developing a crush on Spencer right? Surly not..I began to panic at the thought of ruining our friendship and ruining the work space we have created. I sat down and caught my breath. This was really really worrying me. I would talk to JJ once I got back just in case my brain is having a misunderstanding.

Dinner

My mom made my favorite meal and we were all sitting at the table talking about everything that has happened in the last five months. I smiled listening to Nicole talk about school and prom. My mom's raise. My dad's business sky rocketing. I was so happy to be home. Of course I love the team and I love spending time with them but my family will always have my heart.
