what are we? - chapter 14

Oh god, this was...new.

a month later

Me and Spencer had been seeing each other a lot lately. We would go out and have dinner, spend the night at each others houses, Hang out every weekend, and so much more. I really liked what me and Spencer were doing until I realized how much I loved him. It didn't hit me until late one night after Spencer had fallen asleep in my arms. His head was laying in my chest and my hand was in his hair. I sighed softly as I realized how much he meant to me and how much I love him. "Y-you okay?" He asked sleepily. "Yeah Spence, Can't sleep" I said softly before I leaned down and kissed his head gently. He nodded and got off me and pulled me onto him. He held me close and kissed my forehead. "Better?" He asked. "Better" I mumbled as I snuggled into his chest.

the next morning

I woke up alone in Spencer's bed but I smelled coffee. I sat up slowly and yawned. I grabbed one of his shirts from his dresser and slipped a pair of joggers on before walking into the kitchen. "Good Morning" He said softly as he looked up from the eggs he was cooking. "Well well well, what do we have here?" I heard a voice say from behind me, it was Derek. I waved a blushed a bit as I turned around and waved. "Good Morning babe" I said to Spencer after I greeted Derek. I walked over to Spencer and hugged him from behind. He smiled and moved the eggs onto a plate. "Derek came by to ask if we were doing anything today" Spencer said. What was today? Oh Saturday. I had lost track of days when I was with Spencer because with him everyday was...amazing. "Uhhh I don't think we are doing anything" I said softly. "Let's all have dinner. Like the whole team" Derek cheered. Me and Spencer both laughed and agreed. Once we knew what time we needed to be there we said goodbye to Derek and ate our breakfast in peace. "I am excited to go out! I miss Emily, JJ and Pen" I said with a smile. Spencer nodded and smiled as he took a sip of his coffee. "I wonder if Hotch will bring Haley" Spencer said. I shrugged as I began to eat my egg.

getting ready

I had just gotten out of the shower when I heard running around in Spencer's bedroom. I giggled when I walked in as I saw Spencer trying to find his favorite shirt that I had taken into the bathroom with me to mess with him. I grabbed the shirt and walked back into the room. "Oh lover boy" I said as a joke. He turned around and looked at me. Once he noticed I had his shirt he glared at me and began to run at me. I squealed and ran into the bathroom, trying to hide from him but it failed of course. He picked me up and walked into the bedroom, tossing me onto the bed before crawling on top of me and looking down. "That was rude Elizabeth" He said as he leaned down to my neck and began to kiss it softly. I gulped and gripped onto my towel tightly to hide my naked body. "Mmmm that's no help baby" He said against my neck. I moaned and melted in his touch. "Spencer we have to get ready" I whined a bit. He growled and got off. "Fine, but you are in for it when we get home" He said with a smirk. I gulped and bit my lip softly.

arriving there

Once me and Spencer were ready we left. He drove down to the bar the team went to mostly and once we were parked we both got out and walked in hand in hand. I smiled when I noticed Derek and Pen were already there. I ran over to Pen and hugged her tightly. "How is my favorite tech girl?" I asked happily. "I am great now!" She exclaimed. I smiled and sat down. Spencer sat down next to me and ordered a glass of ice water and I ordered a tall beer. Soon Emily, JJ, and Rossi walked in. Now we were just waiting for Hotch. We waited another 30 minutes but he never showed up. I knew he had a kid and a wife but he would likely call if he couldn't make it. Luckily no one had drank any beer yet so we all got up and went to our cars.

When we all got out of our cars and walked up to his house. Maybe we were overreacting but we could never be too sure. After Derek knocked we heard shuffling and then we heard the door unlock and a sad, exhausted, and weak looking Hotch opened the door. I had never seen him like this, he was always in a suit, straight face and always looked ready for a fight. "Aaron...are you okay?" Derek asked going to place a hand on his shoulder only to be pulled into a tight hug. Aaron laid his head in Derek's neck and cried. My heart broke right then and there. I held a hand over my chest and was pulled into Spencer's side.

explaining

"And when I got home...she was gone, Jack was gone, their stuff was gone, out pictures gone, my world...gone" Hotch explained his heart breaking as he told us how his wife had left him. "She cheated also...yet I'm the one to blame" He whimpered. Pen was now crying as was Hotch. Derek was rubbing Pen's back well Emily rubbed Aaron's. I was sitting close to Spencer but I was on the other side of Aaron. I gently placed a hand onto his shoulder making him looking up at me. "You did...nothing wrong" I started. "She was mad you put work before her, so she took it out on you and cheated and when that didn't work...she left" I said. Everyone was now looking up at me. "She knew how important this job is for you, she knew you had to help the people who needed help" I added. Aaron looked up at me like he was a sad little puppy dog. I sighed softly before pulling him into a hug. Spencer rubbed my back as I hugged Aaron.

later that night

We had all decided to stay over at Aaron's for the night to keep him company. I was laying on the couch on top of Spencer, Derek and Pen were in the guest room, Emily and JJ were on the living room floor giggling up a storm, Rossi was in the other guest room and Aaron was in his room sleeping peacefully. After awhile JJ and Emily had fallen asleep so I took this quietness to ask Spencer "What are we?". I kind of blurted this out so you can guess that Spencer was a bit confused. "W-what are we?" I asked a bit more calmly. "What do you mean?" Spencer asked. "I mean...I like you...a lot. I have liked you for awhile and I-I love what we are doing, it makes me so happy and I never feel alone with you" I said.

"Elizabeth...I love you" Spencer said making  my eyes go wide and my heart drop.
