The next morning you all packed up and continued your journey. Last night Thorin had used your real name, something few people have ever known or used. In the culture you came from, a name was a person's most important aspect, the one thing you could control about yourself, but also the one thing that could control you. You had told Thorin my true name after the dragon came and we fled the mountain, but he rarely used it. Slowly, with the help of Thorin, you began to trust many others with your name and let go of the age old tradition of your people.

You moved through the countryside swiftly. You knew this route well, you had travelled it before you met Thorin, before your father arranged the marriage. You were a well travelled Princess of another dwarven kingdom. This was the way to Rivendell, the home of Lord Elrond, one of the greatest Kings in Middle Earth. You had grown close with Elrond in your studies while in Rivendell, he had taught you many of the skills that you possess now, and taught you to speak elvish as well as several other ancient languages. You were excited to gaze upon the beauty of the elven kingdom, but also slightly nervous. You knew Thorin had a deep distrust for elves of any kind, it was likely that he had no idea where we were headed. Gandalf had been leading us by this way, he knew of Thorin's aversion and was likely keeping this a secret from him. You feared the anger of Thorin when he found out Gandalf's intentions.

You had been travelling for two days without stopping and the company began to be tired and grumpy. You noticed yourself drifting off to sleep while riding your pony, several times Kili had to nudge you awake before you fell off the saddle. "Uncle, our lady is falling asleep, I believe we should rest," Kili said low enough that the rest of the company could not hear him. You smiled at him gratefully, but knew Thorin would not want to rest.

"We need to keep moving, I want to make it to the forests by morning." Thorin stated without looking back. Kili looked at you apologetically but said nothing more. When Thorin set his mind to something, you all knew not to question him. You kept moving but you drifted off to sleep many more times along the way. Thorin looked back a few times and noticed how exhausted everyone was, but kept moving forward. We arrived at a small section of forest when Thorin finally slowed the company to a halt and dismounted his pony.

"We will camp here for the night. Oin, Gloin, get a fire going and start making some food." He ordered while unraveling his bedroll and sitting down. You were not sure what had got Thorin in such a fowl mood today but you knew it best not to bring up the subject. Instead Fili helped you off your pony and you set up your bedroll in between the brothers, on the far end of the small camp from Thorin. He made it clear that he wanted to be left alone and you were more than willing to do so. Some days Thorin was supportive and kind, while others he was distant and cold. Fili and Kili on the other hand were always warm and friendly, a company you had come to yearn for. The three of you had a special bond, one that you could never begin to explain, nor wanted to define.

Balin brought you a cup of soup after you had settled in, which you gratefully ate. Fili and Kili had gone to tie up the ponies and look after them. You saw Bilbo head in that direction with two bowls of soup and did not return. They must have gotten the hobbit to cause some trouble with them, you laughed to yourself while slowly eating your soup. You leaned back against a tree and looked up at the stars, one thing you will never get enough of is the beauty and elegance of the stars.

You soon noticed that Bilbo, Fili and Kili had been gone a long time, you started to grow a little concerned and wondered if you should express them with Thorin, but he had been so cold towards you lately, you decided to investigate it yourself.

You got up and walked into the trees where you had seen Bilbo disappear to a while ago and made your way through the forest. You were aware of Thorin, watching you walk out of the clearing but he never said anything and you never turned around.

You finally found Fili and Kili hunched over a log looking into a clearing, but Bilbo was nowhere in sight. "Did you get the hobbit into trouble, boys?" you asked crouching next to them.

They both jumped violently at the sound of your voice, "Don't scare us like that!" Kili whispered. "We are trying to look out for the hobbit."

"And what did you do to him now?" you asked amused.

Fili and Kili looked at each other and turned to you. "Well, some trolls took a few of the ponies and we sent Bilbo in to go rescue them." Fili responded slowly, trying to gauge my reaction.

Your smile fell and you smacked them both on the back of the head causing them to flinch. "You fools, master Baggins is not ready for that sort of thing and you left him alone!" you explained angrily, "If anything happens to him I will take it out on the both of you."

Both of their heads fell at your disapproval. "You shouldn't worry, we have been looking out for him, we told him to shout if he gets into any trouble." Kili said matter of factly. Almost as if a cue, you heard a loud shout come from the direction of the clearing, the voice was distinctly Bilbo's.

"Fili, go back and tell Thorin what happened, I have a feeling we will need help now." You stated as you wasted no time jumping over a log ready to head in the direction of the shout. "Kili come with me, we have to buy Bilbo some time." They both nodded and did as directed. You and Kili drew your swords before heading off into unknown danger.
