Bailey's POV

I guess I'm actually doing this. Alex convinced me to meet him at the Chili's bowl nationals to see his fancy new cars race on the dirt. He thinks he's all that because he knows how to work on a car, and he thinks I don't. But I do. As to how he doesn't know that, I have no idea. I talk about it all the time.

"Hey Chase. Ready to kick some ass tonight?" I smiled, looking over at him as I walked into the arena.

"Hi Bailey!" He smiles, then walks over towards me. "Mind if I walked you over to Alex? I'm really excited about tonight."

"Fine with me." I smiled and listened to everything he had to say. About him picking up two new sponsors, and the paint schemes, he was just so excited. Just like a little kid.

"Hey you." Alex smiles, standing up from his squatting position.

"You did that wrong." I pointed towards the lug nuts.

"She's not wrong." Chase backed me up.

"Thanks Chase." I chuckled.

"Mhm. See ya!" He side hugged me and walked towards his car.

"I did not do it wrong!" Alex defends, wiping his hands on his jeans.

"Yes you did." I said, taking the wrench out of his sweatshirt pocket, and kneeling down to undo what he had just done.

"Hey-"

"You get a driver yet?" I asked.

"Yeah. Surprisingly." He says, kneeling next to me as I took off the lug nuts and holding out his hand to hold them.

"What makes you say that?" I asked.

"What?"

"What makes you think you wouldn't get a driver for your team?" I tilted my head to the side as I looked at him. I searched his grey eyes, wondering if he was doubting himself.

"I don't know. Why would anyone wanna drive for me?"

"Why wouldn't they?!" I looked back at what I was doing. "You're a pretty laid back person, that's already a great quality in a boss. And you know what you're doing  on the cars. Sometimes." I mumbled the last part.

"What was that?" His eyes lit up.

"Hm?" I knew he heard me.

"You said somethin about me knowing what I'm doing sometimes?" He pokes my side.

"I didn't say sometimes." I tried not to giggle.

"I'm pretty sure I heard-"

"Yeah, well your 27. You're old." I shrugged.

"I'm only 5 years older than you, stupid."

"Still old." I smirked, looking at him after tightening the last lug nut. "Now what else did you screw up?" I asked, standing up and walking around, tapping my hand with the wrench. Alex followed close behind me. I looked in the back at the radiator.

"You screwed this pretty good." I pointed at it.

"I bet I could screw you pretty good too." He says in my ear. Normally that shouldn't have an affect on me, but it did. It sent shivers down my spine. It was a common thing me and Alex have been doing the past three months. Part of me thought it was just a little game we played. But another part thought, what if?

Maybe I was just crazy, crazy in love. Being around Alex drove me crazy, sure. But being this close to him drove me absolutely insane. He smelled good, normally. I had no idea what to say. I stood there with a tight grip on the wrench, wondering what should I do? What should I say?
