The second Okami set foot inside of the USJ, the pit of unease in her gut increased tenfold. Her previous anxiety returned like a raging inferno, more potent than her quirk. It swirled inside her stomach almost as though it wanted to force her insides out, leaving the contents of her stomach in a pile on the floor. Alarm bells were ringing in her brain, getting louder with every step further and every second longer.
Okami stood beside Emika, within a clump of her classmates, in the centre of the building as she attempted to pay attention to the speech being given by Pro Hero Thirteen. She glanced up at the tall glass dome ceiling, ignoring her fight or flight instincts yelling at her to get the fuck out of there. Okami looked over to her dad but he never once looked back at her, eyes trained solely on Thirteen.
Okami tried to imitate his focus, bringing her eyes back to Thirteen, who seemed to be wrapping up their speech now.
Okami's built up anxiety bursted as a dark purple mist began spiralling outwards from the middle of the central plaza, not far from the group of students and pros. A tsunami of people, who Okami assumed were villains, spilled out of the purple mist, filling the Plaza. "Has the training started already!" Kaminari asked from behind her.
"These villains are real! Get Back!" Aizawa commanded, taking on a defensive stance. A dry-skinned light-blue haired man covered in hands and a strange looking monster with a beak and exposed brain were the last to exit before the mist collected into another humanoid figure wearing a formal suit.
"The only real heroes I see are Thirteen and Eraserhead," the misty man said, "Perplexing. According to the schedule we received from UA, All Might should be here as well,"
"So you scumbags used the press as a cover and sneaked onto campus," Aizawa responded, nonchalant as ever despite the approaching hoard of villains.
"Where is he?" Crusty continued, "I went through the trouble of bringing so many friends who are eager to meet him. They want All Might. The Great Symbol Of Peace. I can't believe he's not here," he drawled. "Maybe if I kill a few kids, he'll come out to play," Handy Man threatened. Okami felt her chest tighten as Aizawa flung out his capture scarf defensively, activating his quirk.
The tense fear radiating from her classmates was suffocating.
"Real villains? No way! How could so many of them get into a UA facility this secure?" Kirishima broke the paralysing tension everyone seemed to be frozen within.
"Yeah," Yaoyorozu interjected, "Thirteen, why aren't the alarms going off?" Okami shared her curiosity. ' Something must be wrong...',
"Good question, I'm not sure," the pro responded.
"Is the entire campus under attack? Or is this their only target?" Todoroki asked, continuing his analysis before an answer could be given, "either way, if the alarm sensors aren't being triggered, then one of these villains must have a quirk that's masking their presence here. They carefully chose this isolated facility as an entry point at a time when a class was being taught," even at a time like this, Okami couldn't help but admire Todoroki's collected reasoning and intelligence. "They're fools for trespassing here, but they've thought this out. Whatever their plan is, they must have a concrete objective in mind. But what is it?" Todoroki finished.
Aizawa turned back to share a glance with Thirteen.
"Thirteen, get them out of here. And alert the main campus," he commanded, "actually, if they've got the ability to block our sensors, then they might be jamming our regular communications too. Kaminari, try using your quirk to contact the school," Aizawa gestured toward his headset.
"Yes, sir!" Aizawa turned back to the villains, ready to face them. Before Okami could protest, Midoriya beat her to it.
"What are you going to do? You can't fight them on your own! There's too many of them. Even if you can nullify their quirks, your fighting style is not suited for this!"
