"-Ami, OKAMI!" Okami bolted upright, glaring at Emika, the person responsible for walking her.
Her eyes slowly adjusted to the bright light filtering into the room as her sweeping gaze landed on an annoyed looking Aizawa. ' SHIT! I FELL ASLEEP!' She thought to herself, slapping her hands against her cheeks in an effort to make herself feel more alert. "See me after class." He grumbled halfheartedly. "As I was saying," He continued, "Today we will be heading to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or 'USJ', for rescue training. Change into your hero costumes and meet me at the front gate in no more than ten minutes." the students shuffled out of their seats in haste, eagerly awaiting their field trip.
The sound of chattering teens and scraping chairs filled the room. "And don't be late or we will leave without you." He added, his intimidating stare sweeping across the room.
The class quickly filed out, grabbing their hero costumes on the way, leaving Aizawa and Okami behind to talk. "You fell asleep in class, that's not like you. Is everything alright? " He asked, voice seemingly monotone and dismissive. Okami could still hear the concern underlying his tone, even though he tried to hide it. She sighed in defeat.
"I didn't get any sleep last night, I have this ominous feeling like a sinking pit in my stomach. Almost like a warning. Like... telling me something bad is going to happen," She looked down awkwardly at her feet. Okami felt the reassuring weight of a large sturdy hand on her shoulder and looked up to meet his gaze.
"You shouldn't worry so much, kiddo. Everything will be okay, I'll make sure of it," Aizawa let his expression soften, a gesture rarely shown by the stoic man. Okami nodded, swallowing the dread and anxiety that plagued her present thoughts. She grabbed her hero costume and headed towards the changing rooms, leaving Aizawa to watch anxiously after his problem child as she walked away.
The bus had been awaiting their arrival, parked on the street just outside of the gates. The students of class 1A haphazardly piled inside, ignoring Iida's many attempts to line them up in an orderly manner. Okami saw Emika sitting at the back and took a seat beside her. "Hey! Are you excited?!" She asked, her eyes shining with excitement of her own.
"Yeah, sure..." Okami replied, trying not to give away her feelings of unease. But of course, Emika noticed immediately.
"What's up? You seem distracted," She pried, concerned for her friend.
"I just have a bad feeling about this and I can't seem to get rid of it," Okami confessed. As much as she wanted to, she physically couldn't lie to Emika.
"If anything does happen, I'm sure we can get through it. But for now, why don't we do something to get your mind off it?" Emika suggested, a genius plan in mind.
"Alright fine, but what?" Despite her reluctance, Okami was curious about Emika's plan.
"How about we piss off our resident edgelord shortstack?" She said with a shit-eating grin on her face (Insert evil laugh).
