Chapter 20: A Girl of Green Flames

   
Bad POV

The trio walked down winding, dark alleyways through the city to avoid being seen. "Hey Fushimizu, it was a really big coincidence that we found you here. What exactly are you doing here in an alleyway?" The glowing boy asked. She glanced over with a slightly confused expression and replied, "This is my home, I was out wandering the alley system then I found you and Sap." Sapnap must've come here to search for the library and for help. "How long have you known Sapnap and how did you two meet?" Bad asked, making conversation. She smiled and stared forward. "I met him when we where little kids, I think we where either nine or eight. We went to the same preparatory school and took fire studies together. We became really close because Sap didn't exactly know how to make friends at that point and we really liked hanging out together." Fushimizu softly smiled at the fond memories. "Awww that's really cute!" Bad giggled. Fushimizu's smile dimmed as she admitted, "He was also one the only people not afraid of me." Bad suddenly felt bad for the green haired girl. Sure he looked very different from the rest but it wasn't like he was outcasted for it. "I'm sorry to hear that." He sympathized. Fushimizu smiled in embarrassment while waving her hand yet again. "Ah, it's not that big a deal. Don't worry, I'm over it."

Sapnap POV

Hearing his close friend lie about her insecurities made him pretty sad. He pretended to not hear the conversation Bad and Fushimizu where having behind him. Sapnap knew he didn't have time to worry about things like that but he couldn't help it so he sighed under his breath, "Why do you do this to me Mei..."

Flashback to when Fushimizu and Sapnap met

A young boy was walking alone through the bright hallways with a couple books held to his chest. He had fluffy, jet black hair with a white bandana tied around his head. A girl, slightly older, was also walking by herself in the long hallways of lockers and newly cleaned floors that glistened in the overhead lights. She had long, dark green hair with red tips shaped in a fire pattern but her most noticeable feature was the horrid purple burns covering her body. The boy looked over in sudden surprise, he had never seen her before. Maybe this was his chance to make a friend and she also looked lonely. Pushing his insecurities aside, he walked up to the girl and enthusiastically said "Hi!" She spun around in full alert. "Um...hi." She cautiously replied. The little boy moved his book to one arms and stuck out his hand. "I'm Nick but call me Sapnap." He introduced with a smile. The girl's face lit up as she realized the boy wanted to be friends. "I-I'm Zetsumei Fushimizu, but call me Mei." She smiled back as she took the handshake. "Do you want to be friends?" They asked in unison, their hands pulling apart. The two children laughed. "Oh let's take selfie!" Sapnap offered, pulling out his panda phone. "Cute phone." Fushimizu smiled as she wrapped her hand around Sapnap's shoulder and held up a peace sign for the picture. The camera snapped as the two put on their best smiles. They laughed for no end and decided to hang out later that day...

Flashback end

Bad POV

"Oh if your so sure." Bad smiled at Fushimizu. She nodded and continued forward. How come Sapnap has never talked about her before, aside from the dual in class they had a while ago. They continued having their regular conversation while Sapnap overheard from the front. He flipped George onto his back and held him with one arm. He pulled out his panda phone and pushed the home button. He sighed as he focused his eyes to his home screen background. "Mei...thank you for helping us and George, I know you aren't the fondest of him but thank you..." He uttered under his breath as he put the phone back in his pocket.
