Each day pasted slowly. We were all on high alert for the baby. It could come any day now. Or at least we thought, no one knew exactly how long it's been, but we all thought it would be soon. Sara had grown restless waiting for her child to arrive. We all could tell. She would pace around sigh a lot or talk about baby names. I could tell everyone wanted to just smack her upside the head.
"We should go get some more supplies." Jack said.
"Okay, let's go." I said grabbing a gun and knife. We walked down the street and looked at the houses. It was a very quiet walk. We didn't speak to each other for a while. Once or twice we would tell each other that a zombie was coming. Other than that silence. It was a really intense silence. We would look at each other and say nothing.
"What's wrong?" Jack asked sternly but caring.
"I don't know, I just don't really have a good feeling about this." I said.
"A good feeling about what?" He asked stopping me.
"Everything, I don't understand why we are trying to survive, I mean there really isn't a point." I said a bit annoyed.
"We, well, I don't know." He stuttered. "I just never really thought about that."
"It doesn't matter right now, we should keep going, it's starting to get dark." I told him.He nodded his head and we carried on. We turned the corner and stopped. There was about forty zombies walking around the market. We slowly started to back up. Jack froze and turned around. There were a lot more zombies heading towards us. I looked over to jack and mouthed run. We ran to the back alley, and the zombies came too. They chased us. Every turn we seen we took. Slowly a couple would disappear. They started to get lost. We kept going. When there were only around ten left and we were close to the house we killed them. We didn't shoot them we stabbed them.
We ran back to the house. Sara, Taylor, Lexi, Alex, the kids, and Jonah's men were gone. Instantly we ran into the yard. We shouted there names and searched everywhere for them.
"Amber, over here!" Jack shouted.
I ran towards him as fast as I could. He pointed towards a person. They were dead. We looked closer to see who it was. Lexi lied on the ground. Her face was up staring at the sky. Her neck was twist all the way around so it was at her back. She wasn't bitten. She was murdered. I fell to my knees feeling lost. She was all I had left. She was my sister and now she lay here dead. Jack placed his hand on my shoulder and knelt down beside me. He looked at me and pulled me into a hug. I grabbed the knife and plunged it into her head. Once someone dies and their brain is intact they will turn. We stood up and gathered some knives from the kitchen. They took the guns and amo and left. All we had was a gun each and a couple knives. We had to find everyone, we had to get them back. Jack and I walked out the door and left.
