"If you're gonna kill us then do it now." I said staring at the man who held a crossbow to my head.
He chuckled to himself. Still smiling he looked up at me and said, "oh honey, If I wanted to kill you, well then you would already be dead."
Slowly he lowered his weapon and the others did to. he held a hand out to me. I hesitated then gently took it.

"Adam," he said, "and you are?"

"I'm, um, Im Amber, and this is Jack." I slowly said.

He nodded towards Jack and Jack nodded back. We sat there looking at one another before one of Adams men spoke up.
"We should keep walking, it's getting dark out, and if I were you two and that mutt I would stick with us." He said.

Adam hit him and made him apologize for what he had said about Timber. I only nodded and then Adam told us to come with them. We walked down the trail for a while until we came across an old shack. Two of Adams men went and checked it out. They stopped at the door. Opened it and made noise. Three zombies came stumbling out. There was a old woman and a young man, then a small child. They killed the woman first and left the child last. The two men grabbed the child and looked at me.

"Kill it," One of the men told me, "Kill it so we know you won't get us killed."

I looked at the kid and told myself over and over again in my head it's dead already, he's dead, if you don't kill it then you're dead. I drew my knife and walked towards him. Then I looked down at this little kid and knew that I had to do it. That's when I plunged the knife into his skull. Little chunks of brain went with the knife.

"Are you hungry?" One of the men asked.

I nodded and thanked him when he handed me a granola bar.

"I'm sorry about Kevin," He said gesturing to the man that made me stab the kid, "He feels the need to be and asshole to people we welcome."

"Well he is an asshole." I agreed.

He laughed and said, "Well shit, I forgot to introduce myself, anyway I'm Liam."

I shook his hand and then we talked for awhile. We talked about what we did before the apocalypse, and about our family, and schools. He told me how he dropped out to become a painter. I told him how I was training to become a doctor but dropped out to be a cop. We shared a couple laughs back and forth. When I looked over to Jack he seemed to be more interested in a girl who had short shorts and a belly shirt on. It looked like he completely forgot about me. Yet again I have grown more distant from him than I have with my mom. That's the bad part mainly cause I never talked to my mom and I could barely look at her. I never did seem to be able to keep people around me, especially the ones I loved. They all die or, I push them away that or, they decide to get up and leave. I rested my head on the wall that I was leaning on. Slowly I plopped onto the ground and just sat there staring at the people in front of me. They all seemed happy and cheerful while I sat here thinking about my sister. I couldn't get the image of her head at her back and how she stared up at me like that. In her eyes you could see the terror and the pain. While I thought about her and all the wonderful times we had together I grew tired. I soon fell asleep.

When I woke I was amazed to see that the only other person in the shack was Liam. He noticed I had woken and smiled at me. He must have seen my confusion and worry cause he came and sat beside me.

"Don't worry darling," He said, "They are outside hunting for some squirrel, I hope you don't mind eating that for breakfast."

"I rather die." I joked.

We laughed and then he stood up. Reaching a hand down towards me I took it and was helped up. I dusted off and grabbed my bag. I pulled it over my shoulders and took out a bottle of water.

"Would you like one?" I asked Liam.

"No thank you darling." He replied.

I nodded and we walked out the door. Adam came running back with a huge smile plastered to his face. He looked at Liam and held up a line with five dead squirrels. Liam smiled at him and then turned towards Timber. Timber was drooling, he stared at the squirrels hoping he would get some. I knew better than to ask if he was allowed one. In order to keep him a good hunter and protecter he had to hunt for his own food. He looked at me then to the ground. Sniffing he ran off. I followed after him and Liam came too. When we reached Timber he had a rabbit dangling from his jaws.

"Well at least we have a good hunter for once." Liam laughed.

"He may be good, but he ain't sharing." I said looking towards Timber.

He trotted off to go lie down under a tree. Liam went to go say something until I clasped my hand over his mouth. I motioned for him to be quiet. He gave me a questing look so I pointed towards a deer. He nodded and carefully walked to the opposite side of the deer. We both help up our guns and I fired first. I shot him right through his heart. The deer suddenly fell to the ground with a thud. Liam looked at up at me with shock. We walked to the deer and lifted it up. When we reached the shack everyone stared at us like we were aliens. They all were cooking squirrels and birds while we had a deer.

"Who shot it?" Kevin asked giving us attitude.

"This little darling did." Liam answered.

Everyone looked amazed and Kevin looked mad. He walked over to his squirrel and he started to glare at me and eat. Liam and I started to cut up chunks of the deeds ribs and cook them. He took the liver and put it into a small bag. we all sat there in peace and ate. Timber trotted over to me and licked his muzzle. He had blood smeared all over it. It was a quiet meal until we heard someone scream my name. That's when I realized it was Taylor. He kept screaming it and all we done was sat there frozen. I heard Sara screaming my name too. Everyone looked at me. I couldn't move.
