I heard a few gun shots go off as I was trying to sleep. After that a lot more came. There were screams and people yelling to run. I finally decided to get up and see what was happening. There were people running, zombies were eating most of them, and others were already turned. I ran into the house and woke everyone up. We had to leave this place fast.
"Amber, what's going on?" Sara whispered as she looked at everything.
"I don't know, I thought it was safe here." I told her.
"We have to leave." Taylor said breaking our thoughts.
"Guys we can take the army truck." Jack said pointing in its direction.
We all ran for it. While we ran I spotted my sister. She was staring at our dead parents. I ran to her, grabbed her hand, and put her in the truck. She started to cry as we started the truck. Sara got out and helped get little kids in the truck. They all piled in and we sped away. It was sad, there were barely any survivors. The only people we got were five kids and my sister. Everyone else died. We drove far away from the place, three hours to be exact. Sooner or later we would have to walk. The gas tank was almost empty. We decided to go far out into the country.
There was an old cabin out here and we decided to check it out. I walked in to make sure it was safe. There was a noise from the living room so I slowly started to go to it. When I opened the doors two zombies came out. They threw themselves at me. I grabbed a lamp off the table and hit them both in the heads. They fell down but only one got up. He looked confused for a minute, but I whacked him again. I took all my anger out on them and kept hitting their heads in. When I was done I went outside and got the others.
There was only four rooms so we had to share. Sara obviously went with Taylor. My sister went with three kids. The other two went with each other. Jack got his own room. I took the couch. I didn't feel like having a room.
"Amber, if you want you can stay with me." Jack insisted.
"I might, but I kinda wanna stay out here, just in case." I said.
"Well if your staying out here I will stay here too." Jack said shoving me over.
We sat there listening. There were a few chirps from birds. I could here an occasional howl from a wolf. Just to hear that made me happy. I started to get tired so I decided to go to sleep. As I lay there I started to think about my sister. It seemed like she never experienced death before. Before I knew it I fell asleep.
That night I dreamt about the zombies, and about how they took down the town. Then they came at me. They grabbed my arms and legs. I watched as they killed me. Its like I was actually there. I could feel the pain.
I was woken up by my sister. She stood over me and looked scared. I stood up and brought her back to her room. She lied back down and went to sleep. I sat there as she slept, then I left.
I went outside and sat on the porch. Some animals walked by, and some stopped and looked at me. They were beautiful. Then I saw it, a dog he was dead, he was a zombie. He came towards me.
