The creature came running at me. It was fast and looked strange. I swung at it but I was pushed down. Timber came running but was smacked to the side. I watched as the zombie slowly made its way to me. It was horrible I felt paralyzed. The way it looked was terrifying, it had no lips or nose there were no eyes and its teeth were long and sharp. It was really strong to and knew exactly where I was. Taylor saw what was happening and noticed I couldn't move. There was a loud bang then a body on my legs.
Taylor ran over and pushed it off of me. He helped me up then got Timber. I slammed the door and walked to Timber. He was lying on the ground where Taylor set him down. His body was limp and all I could make out were slow gasps of breath. I knew he was just knocked out and he would be fine.
"Amber, there evolving into new zombies." Taylor said.
"Great, now it's gonna be even harder to survive." I said with a hint of anger.
"We are strong, don't worry, it's been about eleven months since this started and we're still alive." Taylor reassured me.
I nodded.
The way Timber was laying on the ground worried me. He almost looked dead. I picked him up and brought him to the bedroom. Gently I set him down and laid beside him. Slowly I fell asleep. I woke up instantly. There was a loud thud on my window. When I went to go check it out I saw a bird. It started to twitch then went still.
When I looked over at the bed Timber wasn't there. There was no other place he could have went, unless he snuck out. I was pounced on and brought to the ground. Timber licked my face and acted all happy. He was a silly wolf I loved him so much.
We walked down the stairs and sat on the couch. As I sat there I started to wonder why Lexi and the others tried to kill us. Did they hate us that much? Sometimes I wonder if Lexi even wanted to have me as a sister. She always tried to be better than me. I wonder if Sara even liked me, or Jack. They both hurt me and Taylor.
My thoughts were broken by Taylor. He walked into the living room and looked kinda tired. I didn't blame him.
"Hey, what's wrong with you?" He asked.
"I was just thinking, you?"
"I was woken up by a bird smashing into my window."
"That's strange so was I."
We looked at each other and then walked to a window. Out of know where another bird hit the window. Then another, and another. They kept hitting them. It looked like they had a sickness. We ran away from the windows and went up to my room. I shut the curtains and his under my blankets. Taylor jumped in too. Timber went under the bed. It sounded like they stopped. I poked my head out. When I done that another hit the glass. I started to get freaked out, I could tell Taylor was too. He grabbed me and held me against his chest. We couldn't move, they kept coming and coming. Slowly we fell asleep.
When we woke up it was starting to get dark out. I soon realized the birds were gone. We still couldn't move, we were to scared to move. Timber jumped on the bed and hid under the blankets.
"Taylor, you think they are gone?" I asked.
"I don't know but I'm staying here." He said.
"Why, is it cause your afraid." I teased him.
"Hell yeah, and I like staying with you." He said looking away.
"Really, cause its nice being with you too." I said blushing.
We laughed then stayed there. All night long we didn't sleep. Instead we laid in bed and chatted. We talked about what life would be like if there were no zombies, then we talked about our hobbies, and passed on a few childhood memories.
There was a scratch at the door, then silence. It happened again over and over again. We couldn't move from our spots and couldn't talk. The scratching kept on growing and wouldn't stop.
