Killua carefully crept back into the house with a heavy heart. Every part of him wanted to stay with Gon. He had so many things that he wanted to ask him. There were so many things he wanted to see with him. He wanted to see his smile and hear his laugh more times than he could count. Despite himself Killua's heart raced at the thought.Killua stopped in his tracks when he heard the soft sound of distant footsteps comings closer and closer.
In a panic Killua look around wildly to try and find somewhere to hide. He looked up at the ceiling and saw that a tile was loose. With no time to waste wondering if it were safe Killua jumped up and got a grip on the tinniest bit of edge that the loose tile created.
Killua managed to move slide the tile over enough for him to craw in the small space between the tiles and the second floor. He slide the tile under him leaving just a small creak so he could see down.
There wasn't much light, only a distance gleam of the moon through the windows of the hallway over from the on he was over. The darkness didn't bother Killua though. He was known for being able to work well in the dark just like his father. His ocean eyes narrowed in on the distant drumming of someone walking.
After a moment or two of waiting he saw his brother Illumi walk down the hall and stand a few feet away from where he was hiding. A shiver went down his spine as Illumi's dead pan eyes looked dead ahead into the darkness that blanketed the castle.
Killua suddenly heard another set of footsteps start to walk his way. It was then when Killua remembered that Alluka had told him Illumi would be meeting Hisoka tonight. He cursed himself silently for asking Alluka why they were meeting, but she could only see from an outside perspective so she might not even know.
Eventually the Jester made his way only a few feet away from Illumi.
Killua slowed down his breathing and his heart rate blending in to the darkness that surrounded the three of them. Tension filled the are as Killua could hear his flowing blood ring in his ears. He waited eagerly for them to move on so he could get away from the strangling atmosphere.
"You're late." Illumi told Hisoka in a dead pan voice.
The jester chuckled. "Sorry about that. I wanted to look my best for this little meeting." Hisoka replied. He sounded almost like he was taunting him.
There was an awkward silence that filled the air.
"There will be a social party here in about two weeks. Can you promise that nothing will happen on that night?" Illumi asked.
"I can promise your safety along with anyone around you. I can't promise things won't get interesting though." Hisoka answered his voice sounding as if he was taking great pleasure in just the thought.
"Can't you change there minds? That's the whole reason we hired you." Illumi hissed.
"Now now my young lord no need to get upset. I don't want to blow my cover, or more importantly miss any opportunities." Hisoka explained.
Killua couldn't help but be curious about what they were talking about. He gently leaned in closer and tilted his head to hear them better.
"How many people do you actually want me to protect?" Hisoka asked.
"I don't wish to die of course. I also want Killua to live. Out of all of my siblings Killua takes top priority. Milluki and Kalluto should also be guarded. Father should have mother covered and grandfather should still be fine on his own." Illumi answered.
