"Aren't you excited?" Gon asked Kurapika in their small shack.

"The monthly ball hu? I think they want us there to add extra protection so we'll be able to come." Kurapika answered.

"I can't wait!" Gon yelled.

"I wonder if we'll be able to dance." Leorio thought out loud.

"I wouldn't get my hopes up for that. Besides you're an awful dancer." Kurapika pointed out sarcastically.

"What was that?" Leorio asked loudly. He grabbed Kurapika's wrist and pulled him into his arms and started dramatically dancing around the small shack dragging him along.

"Leorio!" Kurapika protested, his face dyed pink.

Gon fell over into a fit of laughter as Leorio continued to swing Kurapika around like a rag doll. Their attention was called away from Leorio's dancing when the commander of the knights sounded his horn which called for all the knights to meet him outside. The three rushed outside and got into a tight line of knights as the commander checked to see if they were present.

"The noble families will be coming shortly. You all will be stationed as the ball begins." The commander barked. His eyes narrowed in on Gon. "You will be stationed with Prince Killua. You aren't to leave his side under any circumstances you understand?" He called.

"Yes sir!" Gon replied confidently.

"You two, Leorio and Kurapika. You two will be stationed near the entrance of the ball. Once you're shift is over you will be replaced and you are to come back to the grounds." He explained.

"Yes sir!" They said in unison.

Gon went off to meet Killua in his room. Killua was deciding which suit to choose from when Gon knocked on his door.

"Hey Killua." Gon exclaimed as he walked into his room.

Killua found it refreshing to hear someone address his name so warmly.

"What are you doing?" Gon asked as he walked over to his suits.

"I'm trying to see which one is better for tonight. I don't really care but it'll make my family look bad if I don't dress right, apparently." Killua explained.

Gon studied both suits. "I like this one a little better. It's blue so it matches your eyes." Gon pointed out handing Killua the suit.

Killua's cheeks reddened. 'My eyes.' Killua thought. His heart fluttered. He took a breath clearing his cheeks of their color. "Thank you." Killua replied as he turned around to put it on.

Gon had borrowed one of Killua's black suits and Killua helped him straighten his tie. Killua took a step back to look at him. He was adorable. The suit was just a little too big for him, but still made him look mature. Killua felt butterflies start to flutter in his stomach.

"How do I look?" Gon asked as he did a little spin.

Killua laughed. "You look great. Let's go ahead and get this over with." He stated.

The two walked down into the shining ball room and Gon gasped in amazement. Killua fought against the urge to roll his eyes. Several noble families stood in corners of the ballroom and talked. Butlers and maids walked around with small plates of food and offered them to guests who weren't talking to anyone.
