"Where are we?" Alluka asked Killua as they walked through the forest."I'm not sure." Killua answered honestly. He looked around to see the land around them looked similar to the area Gon and he had explored.
"We're still in our home country of Gludal. We haven't been traveling for long." Kurapika explained.
"How are you so sure?" Killua asked.
"Don't you know Killua? Gludal's borders are surrounded by guards even in the woods. We would know if we crossed over into Eswar or Oflain." Leorio explained.
Killua looked down. 'So there really are people who see through everything huh. They are just caged in here like animals?' Killua thought to himself.
"Brother. Are you okay?" Alluka asked sweetly.
Killua was brought out of his head and back with the rest of them. He gave Alluka a smile. "I'm fine." He explained.
"Speaking of which, I didn't know the kingdom had a princess." Leorio commented.
"My parents hid her away from the rest of the world. She was kept in a secret garden in the basement." Killua explained.
Kurapika and Leorio gave each other a concerned glance.
"How do you like being outside?" Gon asked Alluka.
"I'm not sure. It's all very overwhelming." Alluka answered.
Killua pulled her into a hug and patted her head. "It will be okay. It's a lot better for you to be out here anyway." He explained to her.
"Plus Alluka, look." Gon pointed to the sky.
Alluka looked up to see the sky full of shining stars. Her face lit up happily. "Wow! It's beautiful!" She exclaimed.
Killua looked down at her face and smiled. He had never seen her so happy.
"So what's the plan?" Leorio asked Kurapika.
"The borders around Eswar and Oflain are too heavily guarded to sneak across. We might be able to sneak through the border of our alley in the north though, Despua. Their borders aren't that heavily guarded so we can get through that easy and from there we're home free." He explained.
"Yay! Sounds like a plan!" Gon exclaimed.
Killua almost stopped in his tracks. "You mean we aren't going back to the palace?" Killua asked astonished. His heart began to race at the thought of being free for real.
"Do you want to go back?" Leorio asked.
"No!" Killua exclaimed. Everyone turned to face him in shock. "Sorry, but I meant what I said. I never want to go back to that awful place." Killua answered. He looked down at Alluka and into her pearl, blue eyes. "Do you want to go back?" He asked her.
"No! I want to stay with you!" Alluka explained.
"We'll probably be charged with kidnapping the prince and princess so we should avoid towns and villages." Kurapika explained.
"So we get to sleep outside?" Gon questioned happily.
"Yup, looks like it." Leorio answered.
"Yay!" Gon exclaimed as he hugged Killua.
Killua blushed slightly at the contact. Alluka gave him a knowing look and continued walking. They walked until the sun rose the next day and even a few hours after that. The four guys took turns carrying Alluka on their backs as they looked for a good place to rest. After walking for miles they finally decided am the perfect place to stop. Gon rested sleeping Alluka against a tree in the shade.
"Leorio. If you will go find some wood I'll start a fire." Kurapika told him.
"What why me?" He barked.
Killua, Gon, and Kurapika all shushed him at the same time.
"I'll look for the food when it's time Leorio, just do your part and look for some firewood." Kurapika hissed.
Leorio grumbled but just walked off to get some firewood.
"What about us?" Killua asked standing next to Gon.
Kurapika smiled. "You two are kids. Go have some fun before you have food." He answered.
Gon jumped up and down a little in excitement.
"Are you sure?" Killua asked.
Kurapika nodded. With that little gesture confirming it okay Gon grabbed Killua's hand and rushed him off into the woods.
The world around Killua looked like a blur as the only thing that stayed clear was the image of Gon beside him. Trees raced by them as they rushed over piles of leaves and jumped over rocks. They ran until they heard the gentle rush of flowing water. They rushed around a few trees to find a small flowing stream.
"Oh you know what we might find?" Gon asked happily.
"What?" Killua asked.
Gon walked up to the water and started to scan it when suddenly he pulled out a clam. "Whoa there are clams in fresh water?" Killua asked amazed.
"Haha yeah Gludal is one of the only areas that has them though. Wanna see if we're luck?" Gon asked as he walked over to Killua, the clam carefully held in his hands.
"What do you mean?" Killua asked.
Gon squeezed the sides of the clam and it opened its mouth to reveal a beautiful cream pearl.
"Wow." Killua whispered to himself.
Gon carefully took the pearl out of the clam and handed it to Killua. "You can have it, seeing as you are a prince." Gon explained with a small laughed.
Killua looked down at the pearl and back up at Gon. He grabbed Gon's hand and carefully gave him back the pearl. "I think you should have it. I already know that I'm lucky." Killua explained.
"What do you mean." Gon asked.
Killua smiled. "I already met you." He answered.
"Awww Killua." Gon replied. There was a faint pink lining that faded in around his nose and under his eyes.
'Is he... blushing?' Killua thought to himself astonished.
"We should head back." Gon explained.
"Oh yeah, right." Killua agreed.
They made their way back and ate a mix of fruits and nuts Kurapika had found in the forest. After they ate they all settled down and went to sleep in the early afternoon sun.
Little did they know that miles away Hisoka and Illumi where working together to bring Killua back to the castle, and the phantom troupe were on taking the same path to kill the young prince Killua.
Killua had suspected something like that would happen, but he didn't really care. He would trade his entire life for just a few days in bliss with the four of them. As long as they were unharmed Killua didn't care what his fate was.
