Chapter 10 - Rush

4 Years Later - Loralei - Age 16

"There are many forms of government that exists in different countries, but there is a government that has ruled over the world for the past 800 years, the world government. If you can remember from our last lessons where we ended abruptly, we know that the world government was formed by 20 kings who came together to form the world government and..." The teacher continued to talk although Loralei wasn't paying attention. Her mind was focused on a weird dream she had the previous night.

It was weird because it was a dream about the people in her pendant, a dream with people unfamiliar to her. It was a dream that was about them going on an adventure, they were sailing the seas, and they were quite happy. The two people really seemed to care for her in her dreams.

"Loralei, since it seems you don't like my lessons, answer me this, who was the family that chose to stay in their kingdoms?" The teacher was annoyed at Loralei.

"The Nefertari royal family, they are ruling the kingdom of Alabasta, which is located in the grand line and is ruled by Nefertari Cobra," Loralei answered. The teacher annoyingly accepted it, Loralei was one of the smartest students in the school so he had to accept her behaviors.

The class ended and Loralei met up with her elder sister, Riddle.

"How was class?"

"I made Mr. Henry mad," Loralei said, still feeling blank.

"What's wrong Loralei? You seem strange," Riddle spoke.

"Oh..well, I had a weird dream today, which had been stuck on my mind for the past few hours," Loralei said truthfully.

"Wanna talk about it over lunch? I'm thinking of skipping the rest of class to eat at the diner!"

Loralei's eyes sparkled with greed, "Let's go, I want some sweet potatoes!"

Riddle laughed, "You really love sweet potatoes, don't ya?"

Loralei pouted embarrassed, "It's tasty-"

Loralei and Riddle stopped as they heard the sound of someone beating another person up and saw at the corner of their eyes a person who was known for their delinquency beating up a poor frail boy known for their bad grades and attendance.

"Jeremy! Stop bullying Kaden!" Riddle yelled at Jeremy, who saw the two and then looked even more annoyed than he already was.

"Mind your own business Riddle, Loralei!"

Riddle punched Jeremy's face, making him let go of Kaden who was grabbed into Riddle's arms.

"You freaking gorilla! How dare you-" Riddle kicked Jeremy down as Loralei tried to comfort Kaden.

"Pick on someone your own size, god, now I have to report you to the principal," Riddle felt annoyed and started dragging Jeremy, "Kaden, come on, you are the victim, you need to come as well," She then started dragging Kaden as well, "Loralei, can you wait by the gates? I'll be there in a few minutes," She sighed.

Loralei awkwardly nodded and went to go wait, "She's probably going to get scolded for fighting," she sighed. Although Riddle knew she would get scolded, she would beat up anyone who hurt another, that was her weird sense of justice.

It had been four years ever since she became a family member of the Beverly family. She has been through many experiences of being a normal girl, although she didn't know why being a 'normal' girl was unfamiliar to her.

Although she did felt that she was a weird child, sometimes she would get the urge to control people whenever they are rude to her, sometimes when she sees the sights of dolls, she would want to destroy them. There was this one incident when a bully found out that she hated dolls and placed dolls on her desk, which caused Loralei to go mad and destroy not only the doll, but caused her bullies to be in the hospitals for a few months. Loralei was suspended for a month and then no one bothered her again, although she did get scolded by many people because of that incident.
