Chapter 11 - Become a Pirate

It had been a week since they arrived on Minion Island, and Loralei already started for her search, she didn't expect to find them on Minion Island, but it was the last island where the three had last been together. Right now, she was sitting on the cliff she had been thrown from when she was young.

She kept thinking about the events that took place here, fortunately for her, she had a great memory, but unfortunately for her, that great memory keeps punishing her for what had happened.

'And Corazon is usually the clumsy one..' She sighed.

A cold bottle of water touched her face, snapping her out of thoughts, "YoW! What was that for?!"

"Water, you've been sitting there staring at the water for a while now, what's so special about this cliff?" Riddle asked.

"Oh," Loralei opened the bottle and drank the water, "I got thrown off this cliff before meeting you guys-" Loralei set the water bottle down and looked at the water, "I..floated? Wait- I swam?"

"Huh? Yeah? You were so cool when you fought, I never knew you were such a great fighter!" Riddle exclaimed.

Loralei was confused, "How was I able to swim?"

"Well, people float in the water because the human body that is submerged in water weighs less and is less dense than the water, which is because-" Riddle was about to explain the concept of floating but Loralei interrupted her.

"Riddle, I'm a devil fruit user," she said.

"No science I know can explain that shit- ahem, since when?" Riddle was a bit surprised.

"About when I was 3 or 4, I remember it was before Loretta was born," Loralei said, staring at the water.

"You had a devil fruit that young?!"

"Dad got his hands on it in an underground auction, I heard it was special, but I thought it was because of the voices that came with it...why am I able to swim as a devil fruit user?"

"Maybe your dad knows why?"

"He died," Loralei said clearly.

"Oh, I'm so-"

"It's fine, he was a dick," Loralei said, but then she thought about her mom. Yeah, it was her mom's fault for cheating on her dad, but that should be given her father the power to be a piece of shit. She remembered how she treated her parents as they died, "I guess I was a bigger-"

Smack!

"Ow!" Loralei grabbed her head bump, teary, "Big sis is so violent these days!"

"You put your head in the past quite often huh?"

"Well, I mean, I am here because of my past, so I should always keep it in mind," Loralei said.

"But your past does not define who you are as a person!" Riddle said, "Gosh, sometimes I feel like a teacher trying to knock some sense into you!"

"Oh great teacher-sama, have mercy on my head~!"

"Then start appreciating yourself more!" Riddle said pouting, "I'm going to check on Granny now, don't fall off the cliff," she said.

"Alright, see you later," Loralei opened her heart pendant.

The familiar picture is there as always, putting a smile on her face, "What will I say to them when I see them again?"

Loralei had been thinking of many things she wanted to say. When she sees Corazon and Law again, she would hug them, and tell them how much they mean to her, before asking them for forgiveness for her mistake all that time ago. Even so, she wanted to be with the two again, maybe to travel with them all around the world.
