I felt my energy return as the Wyrm-devourer did the only thing it could. Its mass expanded, and in time shaped itself into a powerful new form.

Two powerful legs connected to a body with eight arms, large claws with fists below and a set of clawed hands between the larger arms. On each shoulder were two long necks, and I saw that on its back were four tentacles and a long thick spiked tail.

The long necks passed the upper canopy, one of them threw something towards the village. My focus was drawn towards the tentacles and tail as they curled around the body. I jumped off the trunk and dove into the ground. Underground I could feel them as they were torn from the earth. When I rose, the sky was clear, and I saw that it had driven every near tree away.

"Now, isn't that better?" it said. In anger, a fired a solar beam at its leg to no effect. In response, with a weak stomp, the Devourer unleashed a might shockwave which I flew over. It was time again.

I dived into the vine ground, taking more and more into my body and boosted my core's energy when I rose. We stood at the same height, its centre head and looking at its faces, it smiled. "Show your power," it said as might swirled around its body and released. I flew above and felt the circles push the trees back further. I dived, charging my new front with energy. Pale brown held me back; just like before, I snarled as I tried to break through.

"Why use honour now?"

It laughed in response, "want flesh's fear," I growled and flew to the side to dodge the counter pulse, it attacked with its many limbs, and I flew out off the way. However, it stayed close, its tentacles pushing its body forward. I rushed out off the Devourer's path and fired a laser; there must be a way to break its defence. With the beam blocked, I flew to its side to fire another, the first shield faded, and another took its place.

My first attack was a long shot, and the barrier had not blocked its entirety with the rest blowing through its side. It could only defend one side. I fired a split shot, the two lasers arching away from my mouth and shot towards its sides. It used the tentacles to bound off the ground and leap towards me, dodging my attack in the process.

Clever thing not letting my test my theories, I flapped back while rising and firing large bark lances at it, the Wyrm-torn could not control its path. It could not fly. But between its tentacles, a membrane formed, turning them into wings. It may have had wings, but it had little control as my bark lances and solar lasers stuck true. This was likely the first time it had flown.

"Your filth do not deserve the right to fly!" it was struggling to keep its body straight and dodge until it got its feet down and dived. Over its feet and around might formed, I prioritised my safety and flew away while keeping my eyes on the Wyrm-torn. Using its "wings," the Devourer guided its body towards me, and despite how fast I flew, I could not escape.

I tried attacking, but the Devourer dodged with quick movements fueled by might blasts from the fists. Stopping, I morphed my wings and drove them into the ground, keeping them tight behind me. When the Monster neared, I released the tension in my tendrils and jumped to launch myself backwards. I had dodged the initial attack, and a large flap from reformed wings sent me farther away and out off of a smashing shockwave that lowered the earth.
