Emma's POV

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really think this through. I mean confronting the only family I've ever known for the first time since they left me to die in the hospital. I'm insane, what if I break down, or what if she lies about the situation? No, I'll make her say the tr-.

"Emma? What do you need?" Regan speaks up. I look down at her and clear my throat.

"Is your mother here?" I ask, with a hint of a venomous tone. She looks up at me for a second before letting me and Mike in.

"She's your mom too," she mumbles. Clearly, she wasn't told the truth. I look around the small two-story home, nothing has changed. Well, the pictures of me are gone, but I'm not too surprised. Regan goes upstairs to get her while Mike and I take a seat in the living room and wait for Kameron to enter the room.

I hear the faint whispers from the top of the stairwell. What do you mean she wants to see me? She pauses her speech as her gaze lands on me. I fiddle with my many rings and wait for her to take a seat. Regan sits on the armrest of the seat Kameron took. Mike sits back respectfully and gives me moral support.

"Tell me everything about my adoption. Who my parents are, where they're from, and if I have siblings," I demand in a monotone. Based on her reaction, she wasn't expecting me to say that. Regan's face floods with shock.

"Now why would I do that?" she argues leaning back into a chair.

"I don't know I'd say it's the least you could do after leaving me alone in a hospital to die," I counter. She physically cringes at my tone.

"Oh you weren't going to die and you clearly didn't," she says while picking her nails. Mike and I share a look before he speaks up.

"Contrary to your belief, she flatlined. You were so sure she was going to be fine, yet you still neglected her and left her to live with us, not that we mind. Then you had no problem signing for Harry to be her guardian," he corrects. She's silent for a few minutes.

"Who's Harry, you don't know a Harry," she tries to point out. She really didn't read the papers before she signed them. Wow, not gonna lie, that hurts a bit.

"I'll tell you once you tell me what I want to know," I bargain and she sighs.

"Um... I think her name is Anne? Your dad passed in 2017, I don't remember his name though. We flew to some town in the UK. I think you have two siblings, but why are you asking me this? It was a closed adoption," she recounts. I roll my eyes at her last comment.

"Bullshit, the adoption was open and you know it. You wouldn't have known if Robin passed if it were closed," I call her out. She gazes at me before answering.

"How do you know his name, and what is this all about?" she asks slightly agitated.

"Funny you ask. While I had a half and half chance of living or dying, I was eligible for Make A Wish. I chose to meet my idol so I could die knowing I met him. I'm lucky that I chose to meet Harry for my wish. If I hadn't I'd be in a foster home right now. I flatlined with him in the room, and he talked me back to life. Harry has the same feeling I do and took me in, I am now Emma Styles. You see his mother's name is Anne Twist, formerly known as Anne Cox, formerly known as Anne Styles. His step-father's name is Robin Twist, he passed away in 2017. Lastly, he has an older sister, leaving two siblings. Now, how do I know this? One, Anne told us, two you just gave me all the information I needed to confirm it. And, you knew that my father passed away, and you never thought to tell me about it?" I ramble. Her eyes get wider the longer I speak.
