Emma's POV
Boarding the plane to head back to London went a lot faster this time around since I had someone with me to keep me sane. We both slept for the whole flight and this time, instead of meeting Haz at the airport, Gemma is driving me over there.
As we approach the familiar house, I can't seem to hold in my excitement. I haven't seen anyone, except Gemma, since the winter holidays. With Louis and Harry busy planning their wedding, everything was and still is hectic. They had originally planned to come to see me in the talent show, but they just couldn't. I had no problem with it considering their wedding is more important than the show. If they were to choose the show over their wedding I would've scolded them.
Gemma parks the car and I'm out before she can even turn off the engine. I ignore all social norms and let myself in and calling throughout the house, making it known that I'm home. Almost instantly I hear the sound of two sets of feet hurridly hitting the ground from upstairs. I patiently wait for the two men to emerge before jumping into my brother's arms. "I've missed you so much babygirl. You're not allowed to leave this time," he says while holding me tight. I hold him just as close and don't let go for a bit. I give Lou a similar greeting before making my way back to the car to help Gemma. Since I'm staying here for about three months, I have a lot of luggage. I'm not going to let her carry it all in on her own, I'm not heartless.
We each lug a bag up to my room before I'm left alone to put everything away. Harry is currently making dinner, Gemma has gone to her own home, and Louis is probably sitting around the kitchen just to say he helped with dinner. I sort all of my clothes before starting to hang up the shirts, jumpers, and nicer clothes in the closet and then lining up my shoes on the floor. Then, I fold up my trousers, shorts, undergarments, socks, and swimwear before sorting them into my dresser. I set up my guitar and stand in the corner and set my camera on the dresser. I bring my toiletries into the ensuite and then head downstairs to observe the making of dinner along with Lou.
Once I make it to the kitchen I plop onto a barstool and use Lou's legs as a footrest. "So, what are we making today boys?" I ask while making myself comfortable. Lou tries to push my feet off but I just pout. "But I have to keep my legs elevated, I've been sitting for too long. You don't want me passing out do you?" I pout in a manipulative tone even though I'm just kidding. Harry laughs while Lou looks at me gobsmacked.
"I know you did not just pull the I have a heart condition card on me," he declares in faux offense.
"Oh but she very much did my luv. I'm just making spaghetti today. And what do you mean we? I'm the only one cooking here." Harry jumps in. I jump off of the stool and make my way over to the pot where he's cooking the sauce. I fetch myself a spoon and taste some while ignoring his protests.
"It needs sugar," I announce, "and I'm not just saying that because I grew up in the states. It balances out the bitterness. And please tell me you didn't use sauce from a jar," I indulge with a hopeful voice while searching for the sugar.
"I think you forget that you're actually a Brit sometimes and we can assure you that we never have sauce in a jar anywhere near this house," Lou speaks up humoring me. I raise a brow at him challengingly.
"Oh well, it seems that you've forgotten that I was raised in an Italian family. My Uncle Theo taught me the ways of Italian cooking. Plus I literally work in an Italian restaurant, I know what I'm talking about," I sass back in a rebuttal while adding two spoonfuls of sugar. I stir it for a few seconds to make sure it's evenly distributed before tasting it again. I add a dash more before I deem it acceptable. I have Harry and Lou try it and receive impressed reactions to the flavor. "I know right? I just opened up a whole new door for you and your culinary abilities," I say with pride before returning to my seat and making myself comfortable.
