21: duet

just so you know yes i did remake these two chapters. but just these two don't ask why please just go with it lol. btw i finally decided after a lot of debating, yeonkai will be endgame in this book. yay!

the next day

taehyuns pov

"i'm nervous." i said and looked at beomgyu. "why?" beomgyu asked me. "what if they say no." i said. "they won't trust me." beomgyu reassured me. he knocked on our mangers door. "come in." we heard his voice say.

we walked in the office together. "hello boys, what can i do for you?" he asked us. "we wanted to know if you could look at some lyrics we wrote for a song." i said. "sure" he said. our manager took the notebook and read the lyric sheet.

"hmm, i really like it. it's a duet am i cornet?" he asked looking up from the notebook at us. me and beomgyu nodded yes. "and who exactly is gonna sing this duet?" our boss asked us. "we were thinking yeonjun and kai could sing it together in the studio and perform it at new year's live?" beomgyu asked him. "the 4th gen and the golden maknae of the group.." he said looking at us. he was silent for a minute then smiled and said, "i love it. people will love it and it'll for sure be a massive hit." he said. "do you have music for it yet?" he asked us. "no not yet but we will." beomgyu and me said in unison.

"can yeonjun and kai record the song today?" our manger asked us. "yes of course." me and beomgyu said, then glanced at each other unsure. "excellent." our boss said. "if that is all you may leave." he said to us. "thank you sir for your time." me and beomgyu said. me and beomgyu walked out of the room and closed the door behind us. "ugh!" i groaned in annoyance and leaned against the wall. "why did we say we would have it done by today?" beomgyu said frustrated and thew his hands up in the air.

"i need to put on my headphones more when you're talking to me so i won't get stuck in these kinds of things with you." i said. "look we're in this together ok so deal with it k." beomgyu said to me angrily. it was quiet after beomgyu said that for a few minutes, but then i heard piano playing coming from the music room. it was so beautiful so magical sounding. "do you hear that?" i said in a gentle voice looking at beomgyu with amazement in my eyes. "yeah i do." beomgyu said with the same look as me.

i pushed my back from the wall and started walking towards the mystical sound, beomgyu following me from behind. we walked towards the door to see it was a open a little. we saw kai inside the music room sitting on the piano bench. he had his back facing us so we couldn't see his face and he couldn't see us. but we heard his passion and soulfulness from the music that we heard him playing. once kai stopped playing. we started clapping loudly causing kai to jump startled. he turned around and widened his eyes when he saw us standing by the door.

"you guys scared the heck out of me." kai said placing his hand on his chest. me and beomgyu snickered. "sorry hyuka." me and beomgyu said. "why are you guys here?" kai said curious. "well we heard you playing and had to hear it up close. it's so beautiful hueningkai." beomgyu said. kai blushed slightly, "thanks." 

"is it new, what you were playing? cause it didn't sound familiar." i asked walking over and sitting next to kai on the piano bench. "um no, it just popped in my head, don't know why." kai said.

so the music that sounds like it would go perfect with yeonjuns duet song just popped in kais mind. if that isn't the definition of soulmates then i don't know what is.

"hey kai," i said grinning. "yeah?" he said. "do you maybe wanna record a duet with yeonjun?" i asked him. "what?! no." kai said looking scared. "why not? he is your boyfriend and best friend so what's the big deal?" beomgyu said chiming in as he walked away from looking at the guitars we had set out and stood next to me and kai.

"cause i know moa and haters will compare me and junnie and you know i can't handle the hate." kai said looking down at his lap. "hey don't worry ok, remember the haters are just jealous of you." i said softly running my fingers through his hair trying to confront kai.

"why would they be jealous of me?" kai asked and sniffled while still looking at his lap. "maybe cause you're extremely talented, literally look like a porcelain doll, and are dating one of the hottest most wanted boys ever." beomgyu said in a duh voice. kai giggled causing me and and beomgyu to smile knowing our brother was feeling better. kai looked up and smiled slightly at us. "thanks guys." kai said. "no problem baby." i said and hugged his side. "so what do you say? wanna do the duet?" beomgyu asked kai looking at him grinning. "you bet." kai said and winked playfully.

in the indoor gym they have

"what's up guys?" yeonjun said to me and beomgyu who were standing on either sides of him.

yeonjun was laying down lifting weight bars. "uh, we have something to tell you." beomgyu said his voice shaking in fear. "and that is?" yeonjun asked glancing at us then looked back up at the ceiling as he continued lifting weights. "i might have went through your song book and-" "you did what?!" yeonjun yelled at beomgyu angrily.

he dropped the weight bar on the floor almost hitting me in the foot if i didn't move out of the way. yeonjun sat up, "i can't believe you!" yeonjun said angrily looking ready to kill beomgyu. "and we might have read your song perfect harmony you wrote for kai." i said nervously. "you have three seconds to run." yeonjun said looking at us with a deadly look. me and bromgyus eyes widened in fear.

we both screamed loudly and ran. we ran all through the place. "what's going on?" kai said looking around confused as he walked out of his and yeonjuns room. "please kai protect me!" i said running up kai scared for my life.

"and me" beomgyu said behind me.

"what are you guys talking abo-"

"i'm going to make sure you never touch my stuff again!" i heard yeonjun yell angrily. he was running towards us but stopped when we hid behind kai. "you can't hurt us with your angel protecting us." beomgyy said peeking his out from behind kai smirking taunting yeonjun. our pink haired bandmate growled angrily and beomgyu slightly screamed and hid again behind kai's back. "what is going on?" kai said sounding frustrated.

"your heartthrob boyfriend is angry cause i took his notebook and showed his duet song he wrote for you and him to our management company." beomgyu blurted out accidentally. "if huening wasn't in front of you two right now there would be missing posters of you right now." yeonjun said.

"wait you wrote a song for us?" kai said to yeonjun. "yeah, i wrote it during the dream chapter star era." yeonjun said shyly. "you've liked me since then?" kai asked yeonjun surprised. "yeah, but i really started liking you after we did our bts dope cover together on stage. when i saw how amazing and confident and beautiful you were, and still are, i just started falling harder for you." yeonjun confessed.

kai walked up to yeonjun and kissed him passionately. "ew get a room." me and beomgyu said in unison teasing them. they pulled away from their kiss and rolled their eyes at us. kai wrapped his arms around yeonjuns waist and hugged him from behind. "i'm still gonna get you two." yeonjun said pointing his index finger at his. "and i'll help you." kai said grinning mischievously then kissed yeonjun on the cheek. "you are turning our baby into a Slytherin." beomgyu said glaring at yeonjun. "you bet." yeonjun said and grinned. "so do you wanna sing the duet 4th gen?" kai asked turning his head looking at his boyfriend.

"whatever you wanna do i'll do doll." yeonjun said turning his head slightly around and looked at kai. "but i don't have any music for it yet."

"i got that covered." kai said.
