I stare at my cousin in awe. How can someone be so dense? I look at my twin brother and he just shakes his head. He and I are currently sharing the floor of some shack in the middle of nowhere because the Dursley's house flooded with letters addressed to us. Harry Potter, Cupboard Under the Stairs; Mya Potter, Smallest Bedroom. When the letters started coming Harry moved into my room.

Harry and I haven't had it easy at the Dursley's. We have been used as slaves and abused, Harry more so than myself. Harry thinks it's because I'm a girl and Aunt Petunia wanted a girl to take care of as well. I think it's because I remind her a lot of our mom. Aunt Petunia always speaks badly about our parents, but siblings still love each other deep, deep, deep down.

"Get some sleep, Harry. Who knows where Uncle Vernon will drag us next." I tell him.

"You need sleep too, Mya. Besides, staying up until our official birthday is a tradition." Harry opposes. I sigh and settle as comfortably as possible on the cold, hard ground next to him and rest my head on his shoulder.

Through the night I eventually move so I'm lying down with Harry lying next to me. He's drawing in the dirt as we wait. At the beep of Dudley's watch he nudges my shoulder and nods to his drawing, it's a cake with our names on it.

"Make a wish, Mya."

"Make a wish, Harry." I quote and then we both blow out the imaginary candles. This will be our only cake today as it is.

As soon as the 'candles' are blown out there's a huge thud on the door. I jump to my feet and stare at it. At a second thud Dudley is awake and Harry is now at my side. The third time the whole door comes off its hinges revealing the largest man I have ever seen. Dudley screams and runs to his parents, Uncle Vernon in front of a cowering Aunt Petunia with a shot gun in hand.

"Sorry 'bout that." The man says once he's straightened up. He turns to put the door back in place and then faces the lot of us.

My life hasn't been the same since.
