Meeting the Godfather

I leave Harry and his friends on the train to find my own, finding Luna with Talia. Talia looks amused more than anything; I'm relatively sure I'm the only one who takes what she's saying at face value while everyone either needs proof, humors her, or calls her crazy.

I'm joking around with them when the train starts to slow down.

"We can't be there yet?" Brooks says, looking at his watch. I get up to look out the door to see one person from each car is as well. When the train comes to a full stop I fall back into the seat next to Jacob.

"Someone's coming on board." Talia whispers. Everything slowly begins to freeze over.

"Dementors." Luna whispers.

"Please be wrong, Luna." Talia almost begs her. Slowly a decaying hand opens the door.

"Not wrong." I mutter. The dementor looks at me and then everything turns black, leaving the sound of a woman's screaming behind.

"She's coming around." Luna's voice says and several people sigh in relief.

"Is everyone alright in here?" A man's voice says as the door opens. "I thought she might collapse too."

"Who are you?"

"Professor Lupin. Her brother just collapsed. They both have experienced true horrors therefore they both would have collapsed."

"Not just the connection?" Jacob asks as I sit up.

"No." Lupin says, handing me chocolate.

"You know about the connection?" Talia asks.

"I know about twin connections." Lupin says.

"And you've seen theirs in action." Luna asks.

"Remus Lupin?" I ask, eyes narrowing slightly.

"Yes. If you'll excuse me I need to have a word with the driver." Lupin says. Talia glares at the closed door while Luna shakes her head.

"What are we missing?" Brooks asks.

"That's Mya's godfather." Talia says.

"Why are you with the muggles then?" Jacob asks. I shake my head and shrug.

"I'm going to go find Harry." I say, standing up. I catch myself when I stumble slightly, shake my head, and then leave the compartment.

I eventually find Harry and fall on the floor next to his legs.

"The chocolate's not poisoned. It helps even."

"Professor Lupin found you too?" Harry asks, taking a bite. I nod my head.

"Professor Remus Lupin." I say and he freezes. I hug his leg and he strokes my hair.

"Do we want to know?" Ron asks.

"No." I say before Harry can say anything. I close my eyes, leaning against Harry's leg and ignore when the door opens again.

"Is she okay?" Lupin's worried voice asks.

"Just tired." Harry says.

"We'll be at the school soon. You should all get ready." Lupin says. Harry nudges his leg to wake me.

"Stop." I grumble. He chuckles.

"You need to go change for school."

"Blah." I say, getting up and leaving the compartment. I don't spare Lupin a second glance.

The first day of Lupin's class everyone is talking as they wait. I'm turned in my seat to talk to Talia and Brooks behind me while Teddy-my partner-is talking across the aisle to Malfoy and Zabini.
