If I didn't have my friends and Cedric I probably would have dove head first into the Black Lake, feeding myself to the Giant Squid. I'm not good with bad PR. Harry's the one who has had to deal with it all; I now have a new kind of respect for my twin brother. I had told Remus what had happened the next morning and he was extremely unhappy, which is to be expected. Most of Hufflepuff house is angry that 'I put my name in the goblet' while Cedric's friends are angry that I'm trying to steal his spotlight. Several have come up and said 'while you're being a big headed jerk at least Hufflepuff is finally going to get recognition' and they're not wrong about the whole Hufflepuff thing.

My favorite thing was the Howler from Amos Diggory after the news of the champions came out though.

"MYA POTTER! I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE FROM THE START! YOU'RE NOT WORTHY ENOUGH FOR MY CEDDY! YOU'LL DO ANYTHING TO GET MORE ATTENTION! I'VE ORDERED HIM TO BREAK UP WITH YOU! I LIKED HIS FIRST GIRLFIREND, THAT CHO CHANG, BETTER THAN YOU! YOU'RE A SELFISH BRAT WHO NEEDS TO LEARN HER PLACE IN LIFE!" The whole time I continue eating as if I'm not being insulted and an ear-piercing sound is aimed at me, looking completely unaffected. Once the letter has played itself out I turn to Cedric.

"Your dad has anger issues." I tell him. He just laughs and kisses my temple.

When Friday rolls around I'm just tired of having to correct everyone while getting crap from at least half my house. I'm waiting outside potions with the other forth year Hufflepuffs when the ravens descend.

"Like the badges, Potter? Malfoy gave them to us. Thought we'd support someone who didn't cheat their way in, even if it is Diggory." Nora says as she and her posse joins Brooks, Jacob, Talia, Hannah, Susan, Ernie, Zacharias-him not hating me was a shock, and me as we wait to enter potions. All of them are wearing a 'Support Cedric Diggory, the REAL Hogwarts Champion' button.

"Look what they do, though." Nora says. She presses the button and it changes to 'Potter Stinks'.

"Course they do." I mutter so lowly no one hears.

"In." Snape says as he opens the door.

Halfway through the lesson a small Gryffindor I have been told is named Collin Creevey-and one of Harry's stalkers-enters the room. I don't really focus on him, but my potion so when I hear my name I'm a bit shocked.

"Sir, I'm supposed to take Mya to one of the abandoned charms class rooms." He says. "I think they're doing interviews and pictures."

"Fine. Potter, leave your things-"

"Please, sir, Professor Dumbledore said she needs to-"

"Fine! Get your things and get out of my sight!" Snape all but yells at me. I cork what I have so far of my potion, mark where I was while brewing it, turn it in, gather my things, and leave to follow the third year.

"Isn't it just amazing that you're a champion too?" Collin asks as we walk.

"Great." I say sarcastically.

"Of course people think you entered yourself, but I know better."

"Thanks, Collin."

"You know my name?"

"Well, here we are."

"Oh, bye, Mya." He says way too chipper.

"Wow." I say under my breath as I open the door.

"And here's our fourth and final champion." Bagman says as I enter the room. I look to see a blonde releasing Cedric-who looks highly uncomfortable-from a conversation and Fleur and Viktor in a conversation of their own by the window.

"Mya Potter! Oh how lovely." The blonde says.

"Mya, this is Rita Skeeter. She'll be writing a small article about the tournament."

"Maybe not that small, Ludo." She says with a smile that sends chills of disgust down my spine. "I was wondering if I could have a small word with Miss Potter before we begin."

"Only if Mya is okay with it."

"No thank you." I say, walking around her. She looks affronted at that.

"No thank you?" Cedric asks me as I reach his side, amused.

"If she wanted politeness then she should have asked Harry. Besides, I've read the drivel she writes, there's hardly ever any truth to her words. If I wanted to be scorned and insulted I would just go talk to your friends." I say and he blushes. "Not your fault. It's Old Voldie's."

"You're oddly forgiving about this."

"For those who are ignorant." I confirm. A second later Dumbledore walks in with the other heads of the schools and Mr. Ollivander.

"Good afternoon, all. This is a very important ceremony we're about to conduct, the weighing of the wands. Your wand is your most important tool in the tournament and we must make sure yours are fully functional. Our expert, Mr. Ollivander, will examine each of your wands to make sure everything is exceptional." Bagman says once everyone is seated.

It takes a whole thirty minutes to get through all four of our wands. Just as we're being dismissed Skeeter jumps up.

"Pictures, Ludo, pictures."

"Right, of course." Bagman says.

It's a long grueling process thanks to Maxime giving off a shadow and Skeeter pulling Cedric to the front. When she's finally satisfied we're allowed to leave.

"That was unnecessarily taxing." Cedric says as we walk through the halls to dinner hand-in-hand.

"It's Rita Skeeter. She's never been simple." I say and he nods his agreement.

"How bad do you think it's going to be?"

"When she finds out we're dating? Horrendous. Who knows what she'll do with that?" I say with a sigh of resignation. "Go sit with your friends. I won't take you from them completely."

"One second." He says, leaving me standing behind two empty seats in front of Jacob and Brooks and next to Talia.

"OW! What the fuck Diggory?"

"Let us go!" I hear to boys say. I look to see Cedric pulling his friends by their ears.

"She's your friend too. She did nothing wrong, now make up." Cedric says, pulling them to a stop right in front of me.

"Do we have to?"

"She stole your chance at eternal glory." Tommy and Lucas say.

"No, Voldemort is trying to kill her." Jacob says.

"Again." Brooks and Jacob say in unison. The boys sigh before nodding.

"Let's food." Tommy says, sitting on the seat that would be next to Cedric and Lucas sits on the other side of Talia.

"Problem solved." Cedric says to me happily. I look at him and giggle.

"You, Cedric Diggory, are a force of nature all your own." I say before sitting down for dinner.
