The next day Harry and I go into Diagon Alley and enjoy the freedom of being able to do our homework in the light of day and go wherever we want."Form." I demand once I finish.
"How are you done?" Harry asks, handing me the Hogsmeade permission form.
"It was easy." I say simply. I sign Aunt Petunia's pompously flourished signature in seconds, doing the same on mine. "She signed them before we lost our tempers."
"How do you know how to do that?"
"I watched her do it for Dudley's forms and, let's face it, they have no idea what their signatures look like." I say and he laughs, tucking it away carefully.
A few days later I leave Harry to do his homework in front of Florean Fortescue's while I spend time in Flourish and Blotts.
"Mya?" A familiar voice calls. I turn to see Cedric. I laugh at the sight of him.
"Have a few books?"
"OWLs are this year."
"Ah! That explains it. I didn't know you were in Divination."
"I'm not. Cho is though." He says. I feel a stab of jealousy but brush it off quickly.
"She's the Ravenclaw you've been drooling over right?" I tease and he blushes.
"And the snake you've been talking to?"
"One, I haven't been 'talking to' Teddy. We're just conversing. Two, Chang's a Ravenclaw, you're a traitor." I say, a half-smirk on my face to take the edge off the traitor comment no matter how true it may be.
"Teddy?" Cedric says pointedly.
"Shut up." I say with a small smile. "He's the only snake who correctly apologized for last year."
"You mean apologized to Harry too?" Cedric says, setting his books on a table to rest his arms as we talk.
"Obviously."
"So, about this outburst of yours-"
"I told you so you didn't show up there to find us already gone."
"I woke up to dad telling us what happened and a letter from you with your side of the story."
"Right. I forgot your dad worked that the ministry." I say thoughtfully.
"Lucky you." He says bitterly.
"There you are, Ceddy. Oh. Hi, Potter." Chang says, finding us and greeting me stiffly.
"Hi, Chang." I say politely, moving my hair behind my ears.
"What are you wearing?" She asks rudely.
"What do you mean?"
"Those earrings?"
"Oh. Luna Lovegood gave them to me for my birthday."
"You're friends with Loony Lovegood? Really?" Chang asks. My eyes narrow.
"Yes, I am and her name's not 'Loony Lovegood' it's Luna. Just because she resembles the creative part of Ravenclaw and you're too closeminded to think that there's more to the world than you can see doesn't give you a right to bully her." I say and she gasps at me. "Oh, and I know it's you who has been stealing her stuff and hiding it around the school. If I find her without shoes again this coming term then you won't like the outcome."
"Mya." Cedric says in a warning tone.
"I don't react well to bullies." I snap at them both. "See you at school, Cedric. Chang...remember my warning."
