Chapter 30- they're there for me

(Your POV)-

"Hey, can you check up on him please?" I ask Tomoyo.

"Yeah sure." He makes his way to the boys bathroom, leaving us all behind.

"Now that I think of it, it's been a long time." Semi says, taping a finger on his chin.

"He's taking a shit." Ushijima says. I see his mouth twitch.

"Did you just... say a joke?" Ali asks, totally in awe.

"No." He answers with a straight face. Ali shrinks back in fear and hides behind me, even thought she's taller than me. Ushijima really is creepy.

(Tomoyo's POV)-

I go to check up on Tendou like (Y/N) asked me to and when I get in the bathroom all I can hear is small whimpers.

"Tendou? Are you okay?" I ask, not sure of which stall he's in. The bathroom goes silent and he opens a stall with a scared look. Like he was on the verge of breaking down.

"Tom, I don't know what to do." He says, walking closer to me. He has his phone in one hand.

"What's going on? I can help." I reassure him, patting his shoulder.

"It's just..." he thinks for a few seconds in silence. "It's nothing. I have to go do something." He walks past me and out of the bathroom, leaving me confused.

(Tendou's POV)-

Should I tell (y/n) first? Or should I ask her dad for his number? I don't want to lose him. Maybe (y/n) doesn't want to see him...

Which one?

"(Y/N), can we talk for a second?" I ask, pulling her to the side. She smiles but her face drops when she sees me. Do I really look that worried?

"(Y/N), I saw your dad." I decide to tell her flat out. No secrets, no avoiding it.

"WHAT!?" She yells. Her eyes go wide and she looks around desperately.

"Do you want me to get his number? Do you want to go talk to him?" I ask, moving a strand of hair out of her face and placing it behind her ear.

"Yes. I want to go talk to him."

(Your POV)-

My dad. My dad is here. We can be a family now. I can have a dad again.

Satori shows me where he is. I quickly walk over to him. My eyes pooling with happy tears. Finally. He came back. Satori taps his shoulder and he turns around with an annoyed look.

He doesn't recognize me.

"Can I help you?" He asks, moving his gaze from me to Satori.

"Hi, uh, well, I'm Satori Tendou and this is (y/n) (l/n)..." Satori says, looking at me with a hesitant look. I smile wide at the man.
His eyes widen when he hears my name.

"(Y/N)?" He gasps. I nod and go to hug him but a little kid grabs ahold of my dads leg. Turns out the two kids we scared were my dads kids.

"Papa, who's that?" One of the kids ask. I see Tendou out of the corner of my eye. He doesn't know what to do with himself. I didn't end up hugging my dad.

"Hey (y/n), it's been... what... 5 years?" He rubs the back of his neck.

"13 actually." I clarify. I let my hope up. What is this? A Disney movie? Of course he has another family. What was I thinking. He spent five one single shit about my life. That's why he left.

"Well it was nice to see you!" He waves at us, turning around to see his wife giving me a disgusted look. He's just leaving. Just like that. He's going to leave my life forever. Again.

"Wait, hold on a damn minute. Are you going to say anything else?" Satori butts in, tugging on my dads coat sleeve.

"No?" My dad answers. "Look, I'm sorry but I don't have time for this."

"For your daughter? You don't have time for your daughter?" Satori pushed on, clearly annoyed. I on the other hand felt like I was going to throw up.

"I wasn't planning on any meet up." My dad says with a straight face, picking up one of his kids.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Satori asks with a disgusted look. "Satori stop." I said quietly, pulling him away.

"What did you say to me?" My dad says, putting the kid back down and inching closer to Satori.

"I said what the fuck is wrong with you." Satori answers. Tears were rolling down my face. I feel so hopeless.

"Mind your own damn business!" My dad yells.

"SHE IS MY BUSINESS. AND SHE'S YOUR TOO." Satori yells back.

Thump.

Satori stumbles back, whipping his nose.
Ushijima shows up behind me. He said something to my dad. I can't hear anything. The worlds spinning. Leaving me here to die.

Of course. He doesn't care, nobody does.

Semi, Tomoyo, Ali and Ushijima. They aren't here because they like my company. They're here because they so happened to be here at the same time.

Satori.

This is my fault.

I stomp up to my dad and slap him square in the face. Semi comes up behind me and scoops me into his arms. He holds me bridal style as he walks on the opposite direction with everyone else. Satori's nose is bleeding.

Why does this shit have to happen on fun days?

They're here for me though.

Even if it might just be because they happened to be here at the same time as us, they're helping me right now.

And that's all that's important.
