Chapter 10- Highschool

(Your POV)~

"(Y/Nnnnnnnnnnnn!)" A voice sang behind me. I was putting on my inside shoes at my locker.

"Tendouuuuuuuuuuu!" I sang back, turning around to see him smirking his cat like smirk.

Me and Tendou never really hung out at school, I guess today was going to change that.

"Come on! We're gonna be late for English class!" He whined pulling my wrist.

"Since when do you care about English class?" I asked, laughing a bit. Dang this boy walks fast.

"I don't! I just want to ace this test so I can bring you to my club!" He smiles at me and winks.
He had mentioned a club before... I wonder what club it is anyways.

He aced the exam. A full 100%.
Sometimes I wonder if he's actually a genius who just doesn't try... I wonder what can make him try...

"(Y/N) are you proud of me?" He asked grabbing your hand and walking out of the class.

I could feel my face turn red as we held hands through the hallway. I could sense people noticing, or maybe that was just my imagination.
I looked at the ground the whole time.

"Hey! Tendou! You're back!" A voice called out from inside the gym. I looked up to see a SUPER tall guy (well I mean, just a bit taller than Tendou) waving his hand.

"Hey! Ushijima! Long time no see!" He called out waving his other hand. He was smiling. I'm so happy he can smile again at school.

~BEFORE YOU AND TENDOU MET~

A frown. Never anything else.
Always staring, zoning out.
"Tendou, you have to bring your grades up of else we will have to suspend you from your club." Our teacher had said this out loud in front of the class.
High school students can be vicious, especially when they know their target won't rat them out.
Tendou got suspended from his club, and stayed alone most of the time. Once in a while he would eat with an olive haired boy, but that was about it.
I always wanted to have a conversation with him. He always looks so... lost. Where is he? I wonder what goes on inside of his head.

One day I saw an ambulance parked outside of his house late at night. The sirens were going off and a woman cried on their doorstep. Tendou was sitting on the swing set, at the park across from his house. He was crying with his hands over his ears.
His dad had passed away that day, and nobody really knows why.

"Maybe you should just die" Our classmate told him before he left to go to the principles office for sleeping in class. All Tendou did was look at him. After that, I went to that same classmate and slapped him across the face.

That classmate liked me at the time.
That ended quickly.
I got a warning from my teacher but it was never a big thing. I surprised myself when I did it. My hand was red, matching his cheek.
A little after that, I found Tendou with bleeding knuckles, and the classmate that liked me, on the floor.

~BACK TO THE PRESENT~

"Who's this?" Ushijima asked, pointing at me. I looked away quickly, my cheeks warm. Tendou squeezed my hand.

"This is (Y/N)! Shes my...er- girl...friend. She's my girlfriend." I looked at him surprised and he gave me a nervous smile. I squeezed his hand.
Oh my god! This is great! Girlfriend... it has a nice ring to it!
My heart felt warm, kinda like it was being hugged.
I like being someone's girlfriend.

"Uh, ok that's all you had to say" Ushijima answered scratching the back of his head, with an awkward laugh.

"He's scary" I whispered in Tendou's ear. He looked at me and giggled.

Volleyball. I was never a huge fan, probably because I didn't even know it could be this complex! I always thought it was something chill to play on the beach. There's so many different rules and roles that are super important.

Just watching them practice made me feel nervous.

Tendou was a... middle blocker? I think? His reflexes are amazing! A ball comes over the net and boom he's there! Without even blinking.
Even when they fake something, he knows what's about to happen.

Lunch time was here and Tendou hurried out of the gym with me.
"I wanna eat somewhere special" he said, grabbing my hand again.
Just before exiting the school to go outside I saw him.

The classmate Tendou beat up.
The classmate that I had slapped.

Me and him made eye contact, then he glanced down to our hands. Anger flashed from his eyes.

Time suddenly sped back up to its normal speed, and Tendou and I were outside on top of a grassy hill. Alone.

Girlfriend.
I smiled to myself as I unpacked my lunch.
I like that.

"(Y/N), Uh, so about before..." he was looking at our hands. We never let go, so we were sitting still holding hands.

"Girlfriend has a nice ring to it." I cut him off, smiling. His face lit up and he sat closer to me, giving me a hug.

"I think it suits you" he said, his voice muffled from my hair.

The wind was warm even though the temperature outside was cold. I shivered trying to put some rice in my mouth with my chopsticks. My shaking kept making me drop any food I had picked up.

"Here," Tendou took his jacket and scarf and put them on me. Then he took the chopsticks and grabbed some rice.
"Say ahhh" he said as he put the chopsticks near my mouth, his hand under it incase the food falls.
"Ahhhh" Finally, food reached my mouth.
"Mmmmm" I hummed chewing my food.

"Why do you always do that?" He asked from in front of me.

"Do what?"

"Make that sound every time you eat something."

"I don't know... Cause it tastes good?" I gave him a weird look. Why was he bring this up exactly?

"It's kind hot" he answered wiggling his eyebrows, sipping from his water bottle. My face was bright red and I stared at him with disbelief.

He glanced over at me. "What?" He asked, screwing the top back onto the water bottle.
I didn't respond, and he gave me a smirk. That stupid smirk that makes you wanna kiss him. It's so annoying.

"So, since you're my girlfriend and all, I'm going to eat with you every day and we're gonna walk home from school together everyday. Ok?" He asked, putting his lunch in his bag.

"Sounds great" I smiled. Then he leaned over and kissed my nose. He went to back away but I give him a little peck on the lips.

Heh, I'm so smooth

We both get up and head back to the school hand it hand.

Our classmate watching us with hatred.
