Chapter 22- Ali

(YOUR POV)~

I left soon after I woke up in Satori's house.
What was I going to do? Stay there? Hell no.

I said goodbye to his mom and took a walk.

I turned on a dirt road.
I planned to walk and continue walking for quite a while. I need to breath.

The leaves had fallen off the trees and a thin layer of snow rested on every branch.
It's very rare for the sky to be blue in winter. Today it is.

Birds chirped and the air smelt crisp. The fields sparkled when the sun hit them.
Truly beautiful.

I haven't been to this part of town in a while. Only one or two houses were on each street. Calming.

Satori is off somewhere right now. I wonder what he's doing.

I stopped walking for a second.

"I don't think it's safe for you to be with me anymore."

His words hit me harder than anything else ever.  They echoed.

He's gone.

He left me.

I don't know what I did wrong.

I kept walking, staring at the ground.

Is it because of me?

I stopped walking again and looked at the field. The snowflakes sparkled in the sun.

It's my fault.

I kept walking again, soon going by a house.
The chimney had smoke coming out of it and the lights were on inside.

It's a brick house with a green tin roof. Very homey.

I ignored it and kept walking.

"(Y/N)?" I turned my head towards the house slowly.
A girl around my age stood there on the porch, waving at me like an idiot. I recognized her a bit, but not much. She was wearing a housecoat and knee-high socks. Her hair had light pink streaks in it.

"It's been forever!!" She yelled and gave me a huge hug.

Who is this girl?

"Uh, hi?" I answered, smiling nervously.

"It's me.  Ali!"

Ali?

Oh right!

She went to my elementary school. Although back then her voice was a lot higher and she didn't have pink streaks. She also used to cry about everything.

"Ali?" My eyes widened and she let out a squeal.

"That's me!" She let out a loud, exaggerated laugh.

"Oh my god. I haven't seen you in... what? 4-5 years?" I hugged her and let out a squeal.

Ali. My BFF.  We swore to each other we would die best friends. We also swore never to give up on our true love- Zac Effron.

"Girl, get in here. We have a lot of catching up to do." She hooked her arm in mine and yanked me into her house.

This is gonna be fun.

"Ooh la laaaa!! This Tendou guy sounds smoking hot." Ali said, wiggling her eyebrows. She was spot on.

"Heh... yeah 😏." I agreed shyly.

"So, why were you walking all alone anyways? Why weren't you walking with him?" She rolled the dice and moved her character.

We were playing Candyland as we talked.
