The King - Yoonmin

Prologue

**This begins in Yoongis original era**

-Yoongis POV-

I painfully sat in my room dreading the events that will take place. I have never understood why a marriage is so important to keep the peace. I was startled when there was a knock at my door. "My Son, why are you still in your night gown? The first suitor will be here shortly." My Mother said as she entered my room. I shrugged moving to inspect the outfit I was expected to wear. "Mother please. Is it truly necessary? We can gain allies in different ways." I said causing her to frown. She walked closing grabbing my hand. "Its not as scary as it sounds. Your Father had to do the same as you. We grew to love each other and I dont regret it." I sighed turning to lean against her shoulder. I never thought I would have to think of marriage now. But this week is packed full of meeting suitors. She helped me get dress before heading down to the throne room.

I greeted the palace workers on my way down. I smiled seeing my Father was already here speaking to some of the guards. "Good morning Son." He greeted with a warm smile. He told me about how we are going to do things today. I listened as everyone talked amongst themselves. I dont understand how a marriage can keep the peace. Then again, we have a strong alliance with the people of Seoul. My Mother is still very loved and respected by her people and the Kingdom. I turned hearing the announcement of the arrival of our guests. I stood putting a brave face on. A good King should be able to sacrifice things for the good of his people. "Go on Son." My Mother said pressing a kiss to my cheek. I smiled at them both before going to greet them. There was Princes from all over Korea coming to see me, only a handful are here now.

The day felt long and sadly tiring for some reason. Once the suitors were all gone I made my way to the kitchen. "Your majesty." The head kitchen maid said causing the others to bow as well. "Hello Siyeon, glad to have you back to full health." I said taking a step further into the kitchen. "Thanks to you, my King. I am grateful to have had the help of your healers." She said bowing again to me. I smiled gesturing for her to follow me. "We are still getting everything gathered. We should be set in a few minutes." She informed me as I inspected the wagons of food and supplies. "Very well. Please alert my parents that we will be leaving shortly." I said to one of my guards. Once a month I have food and supplies packed and we take them into towns. I have always loved going out to my people and feeding those that are struggling.

I made my to my room to change into a more appropiate outfit. I went down to the stables to see my parents were getting into the carriage. I sat happily beside them as we begun our journey out the palace walls. "The trees always look so beautiful this time of year." Daegu is truly a beautiful place and I love that I was born here. The people are kind and the scenery is remarkable. It was a normal day for us. We spent a few hours giving out things and talking with the people. "We should go for a walk. Before returning home." My Father suggested before sending the Palace workers back. A few of our guards stayed with us. It was such a beautiful day out. We found a trail that led into a wooded area. "Watch your step Mother." I said grabbing a hold of her hand as we walked.

Ive never been to this part of the Kingdom, its very calm here. The trees and the flowers. But things can take a quick turn. "Mother!" I shouted running to catch her as she began to fall. The ground seemed to crumble beneath her. It looked like an old well. We pulled her up and she safely situated. "Are you alr-." I started to say when I was pulled down. It happened so fast. "Yoongi! Son! Son!" I heard my parents and guards yell before I hit my head. I couldnt move. I could hear their faint shoutings as everything grew dark.
