"MIA!" I scream, and run the the spot where she had fallen, about to jump as well. As if I could save her.
When I get to the edge, I fall onto my knees, a tear falling off of my face.
"Mia..." I whisper, my face now red and puffy.
"I tried to help you, I'm sorry. I should have came early. I'm so, so sorry." I hear, and turn to see Elvira. She was trying to help me.
I make a loud sob, and my breaths are unsettling.
my eyes land on an in awe Nadali, with tears in her eyes, and The Doctor, next to the clock that said 5:45.
He knew all about it.
When he told us to look at the clock. It was a distraction.
That sick little....
"YOU." I scream, and get up, my sadness burning into anger. "YOU SICKO. YOU KNEW ALL ABOUT IT, AND YOU LET IT HAPPEN. IM GOING TO KILL YOU!!" I scream, I start to run to him, either about to kick him off the cliff, or choke him until both of his hearts stop. I couldn't believe it. My TV hero. Letting my best friend die. Knowing about it. I was sickened.
The Doctor digs in his pockets and takes out his wand, pointing at it. Great, now this was Harry Potter.
So who does that make me?
As I reach out for him, I suddenly freeze, paralyzed.
What had he just done?!
I try to scream profanities at him, but my mouth if frozen, along with my body.
The Doctor puts the thing back in his pocket, and Nadali yells the profanities for me.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! LET HER GO!" She yells, along with multiple curse words.
The Doctor doesn't listen though. Instead, he walks out of my eyesight, and all I can hear is the TARDIS, disappearing.
He never lost it.
I hated him so much.
"Eva! Are you okay?!" Nadali asks, and is cut off.
"Let me help."
Elvira.
She walks up to me, and instantly, I can move again.
Before anyone says anything, I drop to my knees, sobbing. Although the crying was for more than one thing. My best friend was gone. The Doctor, a fictional character known to help has let something happen and done nothing. I couldn't leave without his help to defeat the angles.
"Get up. We're going to defeat those Angels. No matter what." I hear Nadali say, and shakily, I get up, wiping off tears.
"Why?" I ask, facing Elvira. "Why help me?"
"Returning a favor I never got." She simply says, and I scrunch my eyebrows before realizing all of it.
The Forest's energy is draining. Dying her hair from red to black. Her eyes, the fake name. The favor she never got.
The little girl from The Forest.
Elvira was really Annabelle.
"Oh my God." I start to say, before I realize she was starting to look fainter.
"The Doctor needed something, or someone, to close my Forest. Someone with a large amount of, belief. And he has been successful. The Lost Forest is now truly lost. But with something new. Hope. Goodbye Alona." She whispers, and before I know it, she was gone.
"Mia was the closing of The Lost Forest..." I whisper.
"We gotta go. I can get any paler. But real quick, do you feel tingly?" Nadali asks, and I shake my head.
"Yeah, we should. And no. I don't."
We both shake it off and start to climb down the cliff.
------
"God, how come I can't climb as well as I could two hours ago?" Nadali asks, aching. I was probably just as sore.
"Honestly. Anyways, where to first?" I ask, clueless on how we were going to do this.
"Where did you start?" Nadali asks, and a lightbulb appears in my head.
And for once, it was metaphorically.
"The museum. That's where the two Angels were and- are you okay?" I ask, noticing that she was hitting her leg.
"Yeah. My leg's just asleep. I feel weird though. Maybe someone's electrifying me?" She replies, with a soft chuckle.
Two things with that.
1.) We were just climbing for two hours. How is her leg asleep?
2.) Of course she felt weird. The theory she just made is actual a really good one. Maybe she was being shocked.
I turn my back on her and sigh. "We can do this. We're in this together, right Nadali?" I ask, and quickly turn my head to see her reaction.
But there wasn't one.
Why?
Because she wasn't there.
