"I don't believe it." Mia says, and I smile as we continue to walk.
"How?" I look out at the distance and see The Doctor and Other Mia walking along, and I notice we're barely following them anymore.
"Yeah. What's not to believe. The Doctor is real, we're fighting Weeping Angles, which are now floating in the air, and there are two Mias. Just pinch me already." Mia rolls her eyes and I giggle, knowing that even though she acted like this was a dream, she was ecstatic inside of her little bubble.
All I had to do was pop it.
"How am I supposed to prove that this is real." I ask her, and for a moment we're both silent, the only sound being the leaves crunching beneath our shoes.
I hear Mia sigh, then shake her head.
"I don't know, honestly. I guess since all my dreams stop at a certain point, we'll wait for it."
I raise an eyebrow at her. "Which is when?"
Mia shrugs, her straight hair going in all different directions from the wind.
"I'll know when it happens."
And from there, we trail The Doctor and Other Mia's figures in complete silence, with the two's muffled voices being the only thing alive.
~*~*~*~*~
"We're here!" The Doctor yells, as all three of us raise our eyebrows.
Mia stares at him like he's some sort of puzzle. "Where is here exactly?"
As The Doctor starts to explain, I tune out for some strange reason, as I hear some sort of muffled cough, followed by a phrase.
"Hello? Where are you?"
As the voice continues, I start to walk closer to wherever it's coming from, knowing that it was a bad idea.
"Hello? Where are you?"
I jump as my whole body shivers.
Why? Because I got closer to the voice.
Correction, the voice got closer to me.
I turn sharply, my fists ready for some action, even though the only thing hurt is Autumn's violin, and when she found out she-
I shiver even more at the thought, and turn to see only the trees and broken down warehouse The Doctor led us to.
"Hello? Where are you?" I hear once again, followed by another voice. A child's.
"Mum!? I want to go home!"
It's a little girl's, maybe 7 or 8, and I don't hear much in her voice besides one thing. Fear.
"I don't want to play this game! Danny! I don't like this!" I hear the same voice tremble, and I stare at the extremely eerie and dark forest, wondering why The Doctor brought us here.
"Hello? Where are you?" The first voice asks, followed by the other sentence by the little girl.
"Mum!? I want to go home!"
I start to slowly walk to the front of the warehouse, where The Doctor and Both Mias are speaking, when my right foot is suddenly chilled, and I turn to see that I stepped in a puddle.
I really must not be paying attention.
That is, until my Sherlock self remembers one slight fact.
It was fall. And puddles aren't commonly found during fall.
Puddle of what, I think, and look at my sunken foot, seeing that water was not what I was stepping in, but instead a red liquid.
Blood.
I let out a quick shriek, and jump, sprinting my life out as I go to where everyone is, instead of the empty and misty field I'm in now.
But it was the voice that stopped me.
"Danny!! Someone's here!! Danny help me!"
It was the girl. But her voice wasn't questioned with fear anymore. It was pure terror that shook her. And that was what made me turn to face the forest again.
"Hello?" I find myself saying, then, I did the stupidest thing ever.
It was as if my mind flipped to How To Get Yourself Killed:A Novel reading all the pages, then picking which was right for my situation.
Instead of turning back to The Doctor and both Mia's, and telling them what I had witnessed, I turned the other the direction, as if I was in a trance, and I didn't have control over my body.
I, Alona Paige Smith, went into the foggy, shadowy forest.
And I didn't even look back.
