⎡𝗙𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗫⎦

After spending hours searching for a job, I sit down on a bench with no success.

I'm just a high school student, and I've had no prior experience working in a job, so who would want to hire me?

And most of the store-owners were old people who told me off for wearing "girly" clothing.

It's the 21st century, get a grip.

I sigh and get up, telling myself that this is no time to be feeling self-pity.

I start walking on the streets when a certain building catches my eye.

A club.

Since it's late, the bright lights stand out among the other buildings.

And more specifically, there's a flyer outside the entrance that says "hiring."

That means I might get the job, but it's a club...

I take a deep breath and walk inside to be met by two buff men standing like statues, dressed in black suits.

Bodyguards, probably.

Guard: How old are you? Show me your ID.

Felix: Uh, I came to apply for the job...

I point to the flyer outside.

Guard: Are you 18?

Felix: Yes, but I'm still in high school. I'm a senior.

I take my ID and show them.

They look at each other and nod as if they're sending telepathic signals to each other.

They move aside and I walk in.

Loud music and smoke fill up my senses, I struggle to get through the crowd of people.

I look around and see a small arrow pointing to an office room with walls made of mostly glass.

I slowly open the door and walk inside.

A handsome man with wide shoulders looks up from the desk and smiles.

Jin: Hello, my name is Jin. How may I help you?

Felix: H-hello, I came here to apply for the job...

Jin: Oh, aren't you a bit young?

Felix: Well, I really need the money. And I'm running out of options.

Jin: Okay then, you can stop by tomorrow at 6 in the evening and I'll get you started.

Felix: Wait, is the job going to involve...?

I don't have to complete my sentence for him to understand what I'm talking about.

Jin: No no, you're going to be a bartender. I figured you didn't want that kind of job because you're so young. Is that okay with you?

Felix: Are you not going to ask me anything, sir?

Jin: I mean, it's just bartending. Plus you seem respectful enough, I trust that you won't curse at the customers.

Felix: I won't sir, thank you so much.

Jin: No problem, see you later.

I bow and exit the building, feeling accomplished.

Maybe things won't be that bad.
